Lack of customer service on deviations! Informed today by Viking Agent that we get dumped on our upcoming Viking Mediterranean Odyssey Ocean Cruise in 2026 because of our air deviation for return home at later date.... so we can venture out on our own after cruise. Even though Viking charges an extra $100 per person to fly back home at later date, Viking will not take us to airport along with all the other passengers schedule to fly back to their home. Thus we are on our own to catch our internal Italy flight to visit attractions since Vikings shore excursions are limited in time to visit. Bottom line ---guests get DUMPED out at the ship disembarkation site and are on their own to travel to airport even though Viking has buses/vans taking all the passengers returning to their homeland. Strongly feel this is Poor customer service for a company that charges top dollar for guests to cruise. A major drawback traveling with Viking!

This is a second trip on a Viking cruise and our last. The first trip was good enough to make a second trip. First the food is a 2 out of 10. Bland, served cold and nothing to write home about. The service is similar to being in a diner. Order fast, deliver fast and then hurry to clear your plate. No relaxing dining experience. The staff actually removes plates as soon as someone finishes as opposed to waiting for all to finish. While we were sitting in conversation at the end of dinner the server cleared all the silverware, disturbing our conversation. We are in a state room with a balcony, but have no use for a window never mind a place to sit. We are docked next to another longboat so we have nothing to sit out to see. This was a terrible waste of money. No longer will we give it to Viking.

Good Grand Euro Tour April-May 2024, EXCEPT… I am female. I booked my trip on one of Viking’s two available “Explorer” suites with 230 degree views, pricey, exclusive for a 21 day tour starting with three days in Prague, then boarding the (Lofn) ship in Budapest and traveling to Amsterdam. I - a female - booked and paid for this suite and trip. My guest was my male significant other, who paid for NOTHING. We missed an excursion due to illness, and I found a check made out to MY MALE GUEST, as a refund, and not to me. I took the check to the concierge desk, pointed out the issue, and they made a new check to me, their ACTUAL CUSTOMER. This was bad, unfortunate, suspect. And since that time, for the next two years and continuing to this day, Viking sends brochures addressed to my guest at the address of MY HOUSE, that I pay for and he does not. They have NEVER sent me a brochure, their customer, but instead market to my significant other, who is male, who will never buy from them, and IGNORE ME COMPLETELY, the female who did spend $46,000 with them. Thus sexism is so egregious that I will never buy from Viking again. I even wrote to their president and received no communication or apology in return. They don’t want women who pay??? Fine.

We have traveled with Viking two previous times, both were excellent European river cruises. We booked a third cruise last year that includes Iceland and the British Isles for this May. We were planning a fourth cruise in Asia in 2027. That is now NOT going to happen. We just received our pre-paid flight itinerary for the upcoming May cruise. In the past, we had always been able to fly out of our local regional airport which is serviced by four major airlines. This time, we are being required to drive 10 hours round-trip to a hub airport instead. The rationale is not cost, but rather an inflexible internal policy. The policy was explained to me in great detail as to why "this time" we could not use our regional airport. The policy is apparently inflexible, even if it defies logic and common sense in this particular circumstance. The multiple customer service agents and the supervisor I spoke with were pleasant and patient, but ultimately my issue was not satisfactorily resolved. I am not big on hearing it is against our policy, even when the policy is a one-size-fits-all that clearly should not be applicable under the given circumstances. I informed Viking that it is my policy that I will not travel with a company that does not value its customers and who's policies are so inflexible that they can't accommodate common sense. We will hopefully enjoy the upcoming trip, but have no plans to travel with Viking again. I estimate that at least three future trips we were seriously considering will now not be with Viking.

Viking River cruise Amsterdam to Prague, 15 days. First and last cruise for me.Magni is the boat, Petea s tour director, or, should I say,,,top car salesman. This is a booze pushing, overly heated sales event. They totally cram sales pitches, for future trips, down your throat!!!! Not enough shore time or activities for me. And yes, message came on our tv that they need our credit card numbers, so they can charge us a gratuity: $280.00. No thanks.

I have been on 3 Viking cruises and this is the last with them. We are on as I write this 11-19-2025. We booked over a year ago and only offered Tokyo to Sydney (50 days over $100,000), After boarding and talking to many passengers we were told of the "segments" that were never offered to us, we would not have sailed that long. So on board for 2 days I asked about upgrading to a bigger room and they said yes $16,000 extra for 12 days??? A few days later we spoke to a single lady that was upgraded for free and also many other passengers that were offered a much better deal than we were with free upgrades. I guess booking early has its penalties. DO NOT PAY THE TIPS, the crew DOES NOT GET ANY OF THAT, give out cash tips to the crew. Viking keeps that money, ask any of the staff. If you don't opt out they will charge your card when you disembark. The on-board entertainment is like a bad Vegas act. It is better to book your own excursions on Viator because Viking is about double the cost for less experiences. Spending a large amount of money I it feels like a big rip-off. The captain made a bad decision and sailed north because of a cyclone; we missed 3 ports and got stuck on this ship floating around for 5 days with nothing to do. The port we were supposed to go to (Darwin) did not have bad weather. This trip of a lifetime turned out to be a BIG expensive mistake.

This was our first River cruise which my wife and I planned to take in retirement. We arrived in Amsterdam and we were greeted at the airport by a Viking representative who escorted our group to the Viking bus to the ship. Our luggage was tagged with Viking supplied tags and loaded onto the bus by Viking reps and bus driver. We arrived at the ship and were told our luggage would be delivered to our room. Upon getting to our room we noticed one of our bags was missing. We were told it probably was delivered to the wrong room and would show up eventually. It never did show up with half our clothes missing. Unfortunately, this cast a shadow on the rest of our trip. Viking contacted us after the trip and offered a small credit on a future trip but we would be hesitant to use them again. We were treated well by the staff and crew and the experience would have been excellent except for this unfortunate situation.
