We upgraded our internet and still deal with buffering.

They said that their WiFi was good for gaming but my gaming experience has been wack. Thinking about canceling
Michael
The rep could not explain why you would schedule an appointment without verifying that a tech was available at that time. I had to miss most of a day’s work for nothing, and now I have to miss another half day when you finally reschedule. If this happens again, I will cancel the service.

I had to call 5 times and the issue still is not resolved. I'm hoping when the tech comes out here to realign our dish, he can help fish the actual problem we have been having since the install of satellite.

Recieved wrong address when i spoken very clearly. Technician was 45 minutes late fornarrival due to address issues. Technician did not want to install the dish. Claiming I had to cut trees down to get a stronger signal. Had to convince him to install anyways. Tried to convince landlord that damaging the home instead of going through the window was more ideal. Poor communication with service teams. Calls abruptly hung up on. No feedback or calls back to verify information.

This internet is complete garbage, seriously. Let me explain my situation: My parents bought this service because Viasat technicians told them it was “high-speed satellite internet.” They gave us the usual 💩 that internet providers love to say — claiming they were better than HughesNet and all that. They even said you could play online video games without any issues, which couldn’t be further from the truth. We chose this crappy internet because they promised it was good for schoolwork, watching videos (like TikTok, YouTube, etc.), and most importantly, playing video games without problems. But none of that turned out to be true. 1. Watching videos? Constant buffering, especially during the day. 2. Online gaming? A complete disaster. The ping is insanely high — I’m talking 800ms or even over 1000ms at times. (Gamers will know how bad that is.) 3. Downloads? If you try to download a file over 500–800MB, it becomes painfully slow. To be fair, the only time it’s somewhat usable is late at night, like after 9 or 10 PM. At those hours, the speed is a bit more stable, videos buffer less, downloads are faster, and gaming is barely tolerable — and I mean barely. That’s the only reason I’m giving this service 2 stars instead of 1. For example, I tried playing games like Warzone, and it wouldn’t even let me start a match due to the extreme lag. Because of Viasat’s false promises, I can’t even enjoy gaming on my console anymore 🚨 Conclusion: If you’re reading this, please don’t get this internet. They make false promises about high speed, but it’s ridiculously slow for gaming. Sure, it’s “ok-ish” for social media, but that’s about it. This internet is trash💩. Viasat, if you're reading this: fix your service, and stop lying to potential customers. There are much better options for the same or even lower prices. One of them is Kinetic Fiber Internet, which I’ve personally tested — it’s everything Viasat is not. Honestly, any fiber internet is miles better than satellite. I’m not trying to trash the company — I just want people to be informed before they sign up. In the end, it’s your choice. But now you’ve been warned. Thanks

I hate writing these terrible reviews, I really do. It drains my time and pours negative energy everywhere, but if you can't get a satisfactory result, where else can we turn? I have been a customer with them for many years, having no other decent option out here where I live. That being said, the service drops any time a cloud floats by, and as other reviewers have said, the service caps are outrageous. Many weeks I have spent with no internet at all due to this or that (one time, I was literally told it was because of a train derailment in Canada....?) Now we have the option of Starlink, and while far from perfect, is much better and faster than we have now. I tried to cancel my service yesterday only to be told that my card was already charged the 104$ for the month (I should have called 1 day earlier, argh) and couldn't be refunded. So I guess now I have to pay for a month's worth of service that I won't use, and with the torrential rains we have had, I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to connect anyway. I get that satellite internet has its limitations and we as consumers need to understand that people can't control the clouds and whatnot, and we should manage our expectations. However, they CAN control gouging people for a stupid policy they have in place that says I can't get refunded "for pro-rated, pre-paid services." I didn't ask to have to pre-pay, I was basically given no option and was forced to have my card on file so they can charge whatever, whenever. I feel this is retaliatory in nature, because they know I have switched to another ISP. Furthermore, if things don't work with Starlink I would go back to Viasat, but because of this recent gouge, I'd probably get hughesnet if I had to. FCC really needs to get on the ball and help those of us who are rural. I am not THAT far in the stix, people 1 mile from me can get broadband. I guess I choose where I live so must suffer with crappy service. If you have no other options where you live, you can try this. But I wouldn't recommend it unless you can help it. I will now have to send all my equipment back and pray they won't find something to charge me more for. I have far exceeded my contract stipulations so was told I wouldn't be charged any early termination fees, so here's to hoping. I will keep you informed, and I will be calling corporate to see if I can get my 104$ back. But I'm not holding my breath.

My husband lost his job and we had to cancel this service. It was high priced we paid 170. A month. I asked them to wave the disconnection fee. And was told only if the person who open the account dies. I wasn't even told their was a fee till they had me set up and running are about other plans. It's like pulling teeth to talk to them. Plus I ran over my plan and called and ask how that happen. They said watching movies on TV. I said no one has watch movies. My tv is not setup for that. It's a smart tv. So even you don't watch movies they charge the energy. Because it showed wifi. Still had a slow connection to go from one page to another on the internet. I would not tell anyone to use this service. They will not work with you. Poor service. They said will disconnect in Dec. I guess they want to add to the bill I am not going to pay.
