I made an appointment for a serviceman to be at my house between 8 and 11 am. By 11:30 no one had shown or called to reschedule, so I called asking that the serviceman give me a call with with an updated time. I did not hear anything else until 3:30 when someone called saying that it would be 2 or 3 more hours. About 5 the serviceman called saying it would be another 20 minutes or so, I don't have an exact time when the serviceman made it to my house, I guess around 6. I don't appreciate having my time wasted. couldn't I be given a phone call to explain the delay and when an accurate arrival time be provided so I could do the things I wanted to do and not have a whole day wasted sitting around the house.

Viasat actual internet is the best we’ve had in rural TX. Their ‘customer service’ is a joke and a scam. Calling for service took me to a loop asking me to enter my phone number or account number resulted in the bit saying neither number was in their records.! No opportunity to chat, nothing Finally marked option 3 saying I didn’t have either! Geez, just be honest and transparent and get rid of options 1 and 2 for people who do know their numbers. Seems like a scheme to just frustrate me off.

Yep, it's pretty expensive. But we knew that beforehand when we signed the contract, didn't we? Yep, it has outages in bad weather. But that's kind of a systemic issue with satellite service. Company doesn't matter. Their cs is useless, but we know how to contact their management. Plus they fixed the issues. What I did not know before that they deducted about $20 from my account as some sort of irregular fee. Not much, but that costs one star rating. The other star gets deducted because the throttling of speed isn't really nice. You expect a 12 MBIT experience, but with the slow latency and the throttling it feels like driving a bicycle on the highway with a traffic stop every couple yards. That's even before you reach the max limit of their plan. Then a few weeks ago after I have the service already for 3 years they increased the equipment lease by 50%. Really? That is already more than paid for with 3 year old equipment! When I terminated they suddenly wanted to give me 100 MBIT with the same price and are bombarding me with begging notices to come back. Why not offering that proactive? The latency stays the same anyways. Not worth the price IMO unless you have no other option. I'd rather go with 4G and a bit slower but good latency which feels faster overall. Plus categories cheaper! Today the box to ship their equipment back arrived. Will ship it back tomorrow. So far the process seems to work. Not the worst provider and it worked for the most part, but increasing fees for old customers is not really a good strategy to keep em. I also tried it for work from home but it didn't work. Too slow and unreliable. But that's on me and was my risk. Just FYI! If you have a WFH job, forget satellite Internet!
