I ordered the bulbs so they could be…
I ordered the bulbs so they could be brighter for my sadness. They are not at all bright. I feel I was misled. I do not like them at all. Save your money and just buy led light bulbs they give the most brightness. I should have returned them but I did not. I will never buy bulbs from them again.
I own a Verilux happy light that is very happy with and I thought the bulbs would help me throughout my house by they don’t.

Barbara,
Thank you so much for your feedback, it gives us a great opportunity to share how different our Happylights are from our light bulbs themselves!
All Verilux lamps & bulbs emit a natural, full-spectrum light that mimics daylight. What makes a HappyLight different from our other products is the intensity of light that the HappyLight emits. Just like the sun emits an intense, bright light, so does a HappyLight.
The technical term for measuring the intensity of light is “lux,” and it’s the amount of lux that’s important for treating winter blues effectively. Regular lamps and light fixtures don’t emit enough lux, and it’s the lux amount that makes light therapy lamps unique.
Also, for light therapy to work effectively, the light needs to be directed toward your eyes - that’s where the light enters your body. General purpose lamps direct light downward, but the HappyLight directs the light toward your eyes also while keeping your eyes safe and comfortable with a diffusion lens.
I hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to reach out to us in Vermont at 1-800-786-6850 if you have any other questions!
Best,
Cathy

Hi Georges!
Thanks for reaching out to us and letting us know! I checked your tracking, and it appears that your order is in transit! Unfortunately, Canadian orders can take a little longer because we don't know exactly how long Customs will take. But it does appear that it is now in the hands of Canadian Post and you should have it shortly!
Of course, if you don't receive it, please reach out to us in Vermont at 1-800-786-6850 and we would be more than happy to help!
Have a great day!

I bought a new wall converter think the green light should be on and that’s why the lamp wasn’t working. Turns out it just needed a new bulb. Why would the ac/dc converter not light up when plugged in like other converters??
Response from VeriluxNov 13, 2018
Hi Chris!
Thanks for reaching out to us, we'd be glad to help with your question!
The green light on the ballast won't light up unless everything is making a complete connection: the bulb is a working bulb, and the power is on. That's why the first step in most of our troubleshooting is to try a new bulb; it's the easiest way to determine if there is another issue. You can certainly return the wall ballast to us for a refund. You can reach out to us in Vermont at 1-800-786-6850 and we'd be happy to help you with that!
We appreciate your feedback and taking the time to let us know of your questions!
Best,
Cathy

Good Morning Irving,
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. It’s truly helpful for our company to have customer insights like yours so that we can make improvements to increase our customer’s experience with our brand.
I’m so sorry that our emails felt overwhelming in your inbox. It’s certainly not our goal to be bothersome in any way with the type of messages we are sending to our customers. If you’d like, we can unsubscribe you from our newsletter so that you won’t continue to receive messages that are unrelated to your orders. Please let us know if you’d like us to do this.
With regard to the blue lights in our HappyLights, our optix filters on our LED HappyLights are specially designed to filter out the harmful blue light wavelengths which have been linked to age related macular degeneration and other eye conditions. At the same time, these filters keep the beneficial blue wavelengths in order to regulate circadian rhythms properly.
Verilux has independently tested our products for Blue Light and UV Light Hazards to international standards. All of our LED HappyLight and LED lamp products have been tested to IEC62471 Photobiological Safety of Lamps, Blue Light Hazards and UV Hazards standards for Actinic UV which is a for skin and eye damage as well as Near-UV Hazard exposure which is for UV-A which primarily affects the eye. Our products have received a passing result for these test requirements indicating there is no Blue Light or UV Hazard associated with the use of our products.
Even though we have designed the known hazards our of our products, people who are at risk of developing Age Related Macular Degeneration or who have other eye conditions should check with an eye doctor before trying bright light therapy.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any medical advice as we are not medical professionals and its always best to check with your eye doctor before beginning a light therapy routine.
We don’t include a return label, but you are certainly welcome to return your order for a refund! To return an item, you just need to pack it up in its original packaging with a note stating that you’d like to return the item and your contact info. Then send it to our warehouse at:
Verilux
c/o WTB
32 Henry Street
Bldg. 17A
Bethel, CT 06801
Once we receive it at the warehouse, it generally takes about a week to process the return. If it’s unclear that it’s your return, however, it can take longer to link the return up with your order, so just make sure you include a note with your contact info.
I hope this helps, and let me know if that all makes sense.
Best,
Cathy

disappointed
i didn't realize you had to keep the lamp right in your face. Oh well. I guess I'll just bundle up and go outside.
Response from VeriluxNov 6, 2018
Good Morning Elizabeth,
Thank you for taking the time to write your review - we greatly appreciate this feedback as it better helps us to serve our customers.
We understand your concern about the brightness when using a light therapy lamp, and there are a few important things that we want to clarify.
Even though 10,000 lux is a commonly used measure of intensity for light therapy, everyone's sensitivity to light is different. The distance of the lamp, position, etc. will vary from person to person, so our customers should find what works best for their lifestyle. Light therapy has been shown to be effective between 2,500-10,000 lux. We encourage people not to be concerned about using the lamp exactly at 6" and to use the lamp at a distance that is comfortable and provides the best results for them.
With more than 20 years of research and development of light therapy lamps, we have found that the effectiveness of our HappyLight lamps is maximized, for most people, when used daily. Therefore, we also make lamps with larger surface areas, without hot spots, and adjustable intensity levels. These features allow the user to more easily customize their session, leading to a better overall experience. Our focus is making light therapy lamps that comfortably integrate into people's everyday lives as research shows that's what yields the best long-term results.
For more information on this and directions on using a HappyLight, please visit the FAQ section of our website. We do hope this helps with your concerns, and if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to call us directly at 1-800-786-6850.
Best,
Cathy
