Took my dog in due to severe oral infection after a dental procedure at my vet.
Out of the blueThey want to check for cancer due to swollen lymph nodes.
$1,100 cost.
They immediately diagnose lymphoma on a dog that was perfectly healthy 5 days before.
Went to my vet 2 days later, it wasn't lymphoma but a severe infection.
They were in a big hurry for no reason to give us a death sentence!
Malpractice! Littleton, Colorado location

Tell your blonde “doctor” (who cared…
Tell your blonde “doctor” (who cared more about her hair and nails )at your Scottsdale location that my dog’s lives were saved by metronidazole and the Giardia treatment. After I showed a 6 year history of my dog having symptoms of Giardia- she dismissed me and told me “I don’t think metronidazole will help.” Yes it will - when they have Giardia it will freaking help. Go back to school, pick up a book or actually examine the patient next time. You are awful. By The way I don’t think that your patients should be seeing surgeries happening in the middle of the room, and patients that you’re having to give CPR to. I will never go to your facility. It’s a complete disaster. A Dog coded while I was there. What is wrong with you?

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re sorry to hear that your experience left you feeling unheard and frustrated about your dogs’ care. We take concerns about treatment recommendations seriously, and we would welcome the opportunity to review the specifics of your visit and discuss them with you directly.
Our hospitals are intentionally designed with an open-concept treatment area so pet parents can stay close to their pets and see our teams providing care. Because we are an emergency hospital, this can sometimes mean witnessing critically ill pets receiving urgent, lifesaving treatment, including CPR. We understand that seeing this can be difficult and upsetting.
We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to contact our hospital directly so our team can address your concerns.

The vet was unable to insert a catheter…
The vet was unable to insert a catheter for my cat due to a blocked uretha / kidney stones.
She wanted to charge over $9k initially to treat. I said that wasn't feasible and would have to just make cat comfortable. (Something didn't seem right.) She dropped the price to $6k and attempted to catheterize. She was unable to insert cath.
Took the cat to another facility, and they were able to do it right away and charged less than half. I requested a refund from VEG, but didn't get all the money back.
Very leary of this office, won't be back.

We’re sorry to hear that your visit left you feeling concerned about both the care provided and the cost of treatment. We understand how stressful it can be to make urgent decisions for your cat, especially when faced with an unexpected and significant estimate. Our goal is always to clearly communicate recommended treatment options, associated costs, and any changes to the care plan so pet parents can make informed decisions. Please reach out to the hospital directly so our team can discuss with you.

Gross Negligence
Gross Negligence, Abandonment, and Zero Corporate Accountability
I am writing this to warn every pet owner. My 17-year-old companion, Octavia, was brought to the Brentwood facility. The primary practitioner, Dr. Anthony Chance, explicitly promised extra comfort measures so she would not feel any pain. Instead, after giving an injection, he abandoned us alone in the room for an hour and a half. Despite my repeated, desperate pleading for help, he never returned. Octavia was left to suffer unspeakable, horrific agony with her eyes rolled back into her head. I am permanently scarred by the trauma of witnessing her final hours.
This clinical negligence is backed up by documented medication dosage errors and critical discrepancies in VEG’s own internal peer review notes (Dr. Gruber). Dr. Chance has since been relocated across state lines to the Overland Park, KS facility (License #VET006607).
I issued a formal, evidence-backed demand letter to VEG management on June 15, 2026, requesting a full financial refund. Corporate management has chosen complete silence over professional accountability and has ignored all correspondence. They took thousands of dollars, abandoned a dying animal, and refused to respond. Avoid this organization at all costs.

Beware
Took my dog to VEG after being bit by a snake. Dr looks at dog and says no just sprained his paw and gave him anti inflammatory meds and me a 298$ bill. Fast forward an hour later while he is home his stomach turns blue and starts to swell. I go back to VEG and the same Dr decides to actually examine him thoroughly and says oh im sorry he did get bit by a snake. I missed it. Really you don't say. I told you this. 4,000$ later I ended up taking him to another vet because he was getting progressively worse and they are only concerned with money. As I was walking out with him they say oh you owe another 698$. They take advantage of people knowing most will do anything for there pet.

We're sorry to hear about your experience and hope your dog is doing better. We know how frightening a potential snake bite can be, and we understand how upsetting it is when you leave an emergency visit with unanswered questions or concerns about your pet's care.
The concerns you've shared regarding your dog's evaluation, communication, and billing are serious, and we take them seriously. Our goal is always to provide thorough emergency care, communicate clearly about our medical findings and recommendations, and support families through every step of the process. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet those expectations.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are discussing this with our hospital leadership team.

ER's take a long time
Human ER's take a long time. Often you have to wait a couple of hours to be seen. But VEG pet ER's? How long do you wait there? Apparently you have to wait 7 hours. Yep, you read that right. 7 Hours. What else can you do in 7 hours. You can fly to England and get a cup of tea thats what.
Response from VEG ER for PetsJul 14, 2026
We're sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how difficult it is to wait when you're worried about your pet, and we're sorry that your visit took longer than you expected.
As an emergency hospital, we treat the most critically ill and injured patients first, which means wait times can vary depending on the number and severity of emergencies arriving at the hospital. While we know this approach is necessary to ensure pets with life-threatening conditions receive immediate care, we also recognize that long waits can be incredibly stressful for every family.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We'll share your comments with our hospital leadership as we continue looking for ways to improve both communication and the customer experience during busy periods.

I took ownership of some ones else's 3…
I took ownership of some ones else's 3 month old dachshund puppy due to them not being able to pay for emergency vet care I first took it to my personal vet who within 20 minutes diagnosed him with pneumonia and air trap in the abdomen and labored breathing, My vet does not have an oxygen kennel so I needed an emergency clinic and was told by some of the staff about VEG ER PETS in Rockledge so I rushed the puppy there. I took xrays and the diagnosis from my vet with me. The staff meet me at the door and seemed attentive but could not get an IV in his leg so they put it in his kneck. They asked questions about what happened but we had no answers because the owner would not give us any details. They placed him in the oxygen kennel and got his temp to 97 because he was very cold, when they came to talk to me they were very grimm about his survival, they explained several times they were trying to figure out what was causes his issues. I repeated myself several times that he has pneumonia he needs a nebulizer for breathing treatments and to decompress the air in his abdomen. that was ignored and they repeated again they were trying to find the cause. I asked again can you do breathing treatments with the nebulizer and maybe steroids to open his lungs put him on antibiotics but the response was they were looking for the cause, I again asked them to treat him for pneumonia this went on for 6 and a half hours with them doing multiple scans and checking his temp but never once treated him for pneumonia. after 6 and a half hours of doing nothing but monitoring the puppy the vet said it was pneumonia and they would start antibiotics I also wanted them to give him liquids through the IV because he was dehydrated they never did that the entire 6 and a half hours. They were all very nice women but their medical training and knowledge was the worse I had ever seen they let this 2 pound puppy gasp and struggle for air when they could have saved his life if they would had treated him instead of ignored the proper treatment any other vet would have immediately done. It is not different than treating a human even I know this much. I had to leave becuase I needed to check on my 14 year old cur dog by the time I got home less than 30 minutes the puppy died I am so upset that this place is full of uneducated staff and I took this puppy there for emergency treatment and he got none. I am so disgusted with this place and I am launching a formal complaint against them for ignoring the proper treatment and doing nothing but billing me more and more while they let this puppy suffer. I hope they can not rest at night because I cant for thinking they were vets and would properly treat this puppy. his name was Louie and he mattered!
Response from VEG ER for PetsJul 14, 2026
We are deeply sorry for the loss of Louie. Thank you for stepping in to help a puppy in need and for doing everything you could to get him emergency care. We can only imagine how heartbreaking this experience has been. We are reviewing the concerns with our hospital leadership team and look to make improvements.

I brought my 14-year-old terrier to VEG…
I brought my 14-year-old terrier to VEG because he was lethargic, severely swollen, and clearly not himself. As a senior dog, I knew his age was working against him, but I was scared, emotional, and desperately hoping for answers or some way to help him.
When we arrived, I felt there was hope. We discussed diagnostics and treatment options, and I agreed to the recommended testing, including bloodwork. Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts, they were unable to obtain a blood sample because of his severe swelling.
After spending more than $2,000 and going through an incredibly emotional experience, I was then told by the doctor that, based solely on his appearance and symptoms, he most likely had a fatal condition, although it could not be confirmed without the bloodwork they were unable to complete. I was essentially left with the impression that there was little to nothing that could be done for him.
As a pet owner in a very vulnerable state, that was devastating to hear. What made it even more difficult was feeling as though I was given hope at the beginning of the process, only to be told later that the outlook was likely terminal without any definitive diagnosis. I understand that not every case has a positive outcome, especially with an elderly dog, but the emotional roller coaster, combined with the significant expense, left me feeling disappointed and heartbroken.
To add to my frustration, payment was required upfront, and I am still waiting for a refund for the bloodwork that was never successfully completed.
Losing a pet—or facing the possibility of losing one—is one of the hardest experiences a person can go through. During that time, compassion, transparency, and realistic expectations matter just as much as medical care
Response from VEG ER for PetsJul 14, 2026
