I was a young 1st time home buyer and they approached me about a system. I wanted it for fire (I have a dog at home during the day) more than anything. Got it installed simple, painless. Sold the house 3 years and 2 months after that. Went to cancel it, couldn't. Since "I" had a 3rd party install it the contract was auto 5 years!! "I" did not have a 3rd party install VECTOR did. Sneaky #1. So I had to take it with me. I was told it would not extend my contract past the 5 years it was set to end at. Lived in that rental house 7 months until our house was ready. Moved into our new house. Had roughly 1+ year left on the original 5 year contract. Went to move into new home....auto 3 year extension for moving 2x's in less than 1 year. Sneaky #2. A representative shows up at my door 3 months later to "Calm me down" tries to GIVE ME free upgrade items and says he will reduce my bill. I don't trust Vector get out of my house (in a nice way). Find out later if I accepted the upgrade auto 3 year contract renewal from install. SNEAKY #3. I have my calendar marked for 2 months prior to my contract end date and I will send in 3 cancellation letters just to make sure they can't say they did not get them. SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES.

We used vector security for our home for a little over a year before we moved to a new house with a different security system. I wrote in as requested to cancel my service when we moved to a new house. Abiding by the statement in the signed contract that says "either of us can cancel in writing at least 30 days before the end of the initial term or any renewal contract." I had to follow up with them multiple times to confirm receipt of my cancellation, they told me everything would be cancelled and then I received bills requiring me to pay through March of 2017. They provided no logical explanation for why I had to pay through March 2017 other than we signed a contract. I read them section 3 of their own contract along with my contract lawyer and they never provided me an explanation other than if i don't pay it it will be sent to collections. I received no breakdown of costs, no explanation, horrible customer service and on top of it all they were rude, inconsiderate, and passive aggressive. I will never use Vector security again and i will recommend to anyone I know to use any security monitoring company other than vector security.

Cannot wait to leave

Withing 45 days of my home security system installation I received notification that the 2.0G system installed would be outdated. Vector said that the system would still work and I would only need to update at a later time. Very dishonest with installing a system that is no longer supported by outdated wireless systems in such a short period of time. Complained to Vector in regard to their notice of system expiration and found no acceptable/believable resolution. Need to pay my two years and get out of the contract!!

DVR is still not working after 6 months

After paying for the service for more than 4 years we discovered that the system was not being monitored. We tried may times to contact the company for assistance in getting the services we were paying for. The best decision we made was to drop Vector and purchase Simply Safe. Better equipment, better price, great service, and no contract. Vector Security needs to fail and close the doors. They are not an honest business.

They tell you the price package includes the secure plus protection plan, I repeatedly asked the sales rep if I didn't want the protection package ( which is basically them replacing batteries), would it make a difference in, my monthly subscription price, to which he kept saying no, it's all inclusive. The next day my gut was telling me to read it again, and not only did I discover it wasn't mandatory to have the protection plan but it is already included in the first year free. So they are charging you $12.99 per month the first year for a service they already provide for free. When I called to confirm this, I was told in fact this was the case, I immediately cancelled my protection plan to reduce my monthly fee, here's hoping they actually do it. I can't rate the service yet, I have had front point at my other house for the last 5 years and the system seems similar. To the Vector rep who may read this, not sure if the account number I listed is correct, because when I called to get my account number I was told I have a couple of them and it depended on what I needed decided what number they used. UPDATE so I was supposed to get two months free due to having an existing system in my new house, and today I get debited the full amount no reduction for the payment plan and no two free months, and see below, did they contact me? NO.

We just ended our 5 year contract with Vector last month. The service and equipment worked well for the first few years. Then, the equipment began malfunctioning. We reached out to the company dozens of times to have the equipment fixed always being told someone would come out and they never did. We attempted to talk to managers who were never available. When we told the company we were looking to break our contract because they were not providing us the service we were told we would receive, they told us good luck. When it was nearing the end of our contract,, we reached out to the company to cancel. We were told multiple times it was taken care of but even so they continued to contact us about our service and even debited our account! Hands down worst company we've ever had the displeasure of working with!!
