Value Added Moving took a $8,942.57 deposit on a written binding estimate of $12,642 and provided literally zero services. I gave them a complete, exhaustive inventory of every item in my house. On 8/14 they confirmed movers would arrive the morning of 8/15. No one showed. Call logs prove it. The next day (8/16) a crew finally appeared and demanded $56,000 on the spot with no new written estimate or contract. I refused and made them leave without loading a single item. I immediately demanded a full refund. On 8/17 they acknowledged the refund was owed but claimed it would take “a few days longer” because I had disputed the charge. They have now reversed course and are refusing to return the deposit after performing no work at all. This is a classic bait-and-switch. I have filed formal complaints with the BBB, Florida Attorney General, and FMCSA/NCCDB. Do not trust this company with your money or your belongings.

DO NOT. DO NOT. DO NOT. WARNING! My experience with Value Added Moving was one of the worst interactions of my life. I hired them to arrange my move from Maine to Arizona. Their salesperson, Aiden, reviewed my belongings, quoted $3,200, and collected a $1,900 deposit. I specifically asked if the price would increase, and he replied by text that it would not and I could count on the quote. Four days before pickup, Suzi reviewed my inventory and box count. Value Added Moving then more than doubled the estimate to $7,200. I tried to cancel, but the company refused to return my deposit because its cancellation period was only 72 hours. By then, that period had passed and I had four days to vacate my house. A customer-care agent swore at me and refused to help. Canceling meant losing $1,900 and finding another mover within four days, so I felt trapped into continuing. When Value Added Moving’s selected carrier arrived, its crew said the $7,200 estimate was nowhere near accurate and told me the move would cost $26,000. I could not pay that, so I left nearly all my furniture behind. Even after removing most of it, I paid about $14,000—almost twice the revised estimate. My shipment was also late, damaged, and missing property. Value Added Moving then claimed those problems had nothing to do with it because it was only the broker. However, its contract says it will act on the customer’s behalf in resolving claims or delay issues with the carrier. Despite that promise, it provided no meaningful assistance and refused to refund the $1,900 it now calls a fully earned brokerage fee. Value Added Moving promised my $3,200 quote would not increase, raised it to $7,200 four days before pickup, denied a refund under its 72-hour policy, and selected a carrier that quoted $26,000 at my door. I paid about $14,000 after abandoning most of my furniture. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company’s estimates, sales assurances, or promised support.

These are the worst people I have ever met. They are horrible. They took from me $1,660.00. I put half on one credit card and the other on another credit. These evil people scheduled me for July 30 2026 & July 31. 2026. They never came to pick up my furniture. I spoke to a Tom Kemp he showed me the contract on line FOR A SECOND and I NEVER received a copy. Then he referred me to another company. 51 states relocation. I CALLED TOM AND ASKED FOR HIM, HE WAS OUT SICK OF COURSE HE WAS OUT SICK. tO THE PERSON ON THE PHONE I ASKED IF 51 STATES RELOCATION WAS WITH VALUE ADDED LOCATION. THEY SAID YES. I needed to be in Cocoa FL by Monday 8/3 at 10:00 am. 51 states location movers rescheduled me to 2-5 pm on the 8/1/26. They showed up at 6 pm. 51 states relocation wanted to draw up a new contract with only moving 3 cubit feet of furniture. 6ft by 6ft by 6ft. They wanted more money. I closed the garage door on them went and got my purse and laid down for a minute And I drove to Fl myself with my car packed. I had from 8 pm Saturday night to get 800 miles for my important appointment. By the grace of God I got to my appointment at 10 minutes to 10 am ON MONDAY I contacted Value Added Movers to ask for my money back and they said it was a nonrefundable deposit . I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK NOR A CONTRACT. I CALLED BOTH CREDIT CARD COMPANIES AND THEY ARE CALLING IT A DISPUTE. NO SERVICES RENDERED. IT IS OUT RIGHT FRAUD. FYI THE CREDIT CARD COMPANIES ARE AAA VISA AND MERCURY.

Value added moving is nothing but a middle man taking their cut to pawn you off to actual movers. They low balled the bid to get me to sign, when the day came to move, the new moving company charged me 2x more and I was stuck because my house was closing and I had to move. This second company now has my belongings in storage in the city I was living and waiting to find someone to move it across the country. Who knows when I will receive my belongings.

This is a letter written by us to Value Added Moving on August 13th, 2026. Waiting for a reply from them! We originally spoke to Steven in senior relocation specialist to compare prices on our move from Ozark Missouri to La Feria Texas on July 17th 2026. We gave him a list of our furniture and totes already packed and disassembled in a 10x20 storage locker. We told him we were seniors 67 plus one of us disabled and ex military family. After discounts he quoted us a price of $3350 if we signed up that day and agreed to be loaded on an available truck coming our way. We paid $1640.23 that day and told remaining half broken in 2 payments at pick up and delivery of around 800-900 each. We explained that are sons would be there in Ozark to meet truck for loading and we would be at Texas destination for delivery. I sent 800 to son in Ozark for the pickup. We received an email with our quote list of items and payments and asked for a signature. Which my husband looked it over and agreed to. On August 8th 2026 Suzy from quality assurance called to go over our pickup info and verify our list and addresses and payments. The list she had was missing about 1/2 of the list Steven was given. This seemed strange but we gave her the complete list and she said she would have to refigure it and suddenly 2 days before our move the price jumped to $5800. This was an increase of $2450 just 2 days before pickup! We were appalled. We are on a fixed income and had stretched our budget for the $3350 amount. Which our sons were going to bring a U-Haul down with our stuff prior to us thinking the little difference between U-Haul and value moving was doable and wouldn’t put our sons out so much. Talk about bait and switch, but our nightmare got worse! After scrambling and scraping to come up with the extra $2450 just to get our furniture and belongings and not be out the deposit and the extra $1559.85 I paid on the 8th so the move would move forward we told her my sons at pickup would only have about $800 - $900 cash to give the driver as originally agreed to. She said I could pay the difference at delivery. The day of pickup at 7:30 am we received a call and were told the truck broke down and wouldn’t be there on August 11th but would arrive on the 12th! Both my sons who took time off from work so they could meet the truck were called and told they could go on to work but be available the next day. At 9:30 am the driver called and said his truck was fixed and he would be at pickup location at noon. We explained that when they cancelled pickup to next day our sons went on to work. One to Branson Missouri and one to Harrison Arkansas. Both more than 30-60 minutes away and would not be able to meet them on the 11th but would on the 12th. The driver got angry and rude and told us we would not be picked up at all! We called the dispatcher and talked to him and gave him the drivers phone number. In the meanwhile the driver called one of our sons telling him he had to leave work and meet him in Ozark. He was heading into a meeting and called us because he couldn’t head back. Pickup was finally moved to the 12th On the morning of the 12th driver made it to Crane Missouri at our younger sons house to pick up our mattress bedframe(already disassembled) tv/fireplace and armoire (this had been agreed to on first quote and phone call with Steven. When driver got to our storage locker in Ozark our older sone was told he would only take 20 totes 30 were in original and second price we had paid on. He didn’t even load my furniture in Locker that WAS on the list. We argued back and forth on phone with the driver insisting that we needed to pay another $3200.00 cash right then or he would take $2000 plus the $800 my son had and close to $1200 plus the $2050 that I already was going to have to pay for the first jump in cost from 3350 to 5800. When we said we were trying to get hold of the main office or Suzy he told my son and husband he had already loaded 20 totes and our bronze bird statue ( it was on the list) but was leaving all my furniture (also on the list) because we didn’t want to pay the difference. Now I’m out 5800 dollars and still have to get my furniture and other things from Missouri! When I tried to get help from customer service because we didn’t feel that what they had on the truck should cost us extra $2450.00 on delivery since most of our list was left in Ozark they said “Sorry that is the way it is and nothing we can do for you. If you don’t pay it then we keep your stuff and charge storage and a redelivery fee. Then suggested we pay it or possibly lose our items. So bait and switch scam on disabled seniors? I feel since most of list was left in Missouri that some sort of adjustment or possibly delivery of rest of listed items should be considered. I look forward to hearing from you ASAP. I do feel very taken advantage of over this whole experience. Value Added Moving is the name on contract

As others here have said, I would leave 0 stars if I could. My husband and I booked with this company for a cross-country move. Before we paid anything, my husband asked their sales rep directly, in a group text I was part of, whether we could cancel and get our deposit back if we ended up not moving. The rep answered in writing: "Deposit fully refundable UNTIL 2 weeks prior to pick up date." I saw that message myself before we agreed to pay $2,030. We never confirmed a move date — the rep told us that was fine because it was a "floating reservation." We later had to cancel. Even going by the dates on their estimate — dates the company filled in on its own, which we never chose or agreed to — we cancelled about two months ahead of them. First they told my husband on the phone that the refund was being processed (I overheard this as it was on speakerphone). A week later a manager said we weren't getting anything back. Then came three different written refusals in under ten minutes, each with a different reason — including "refer to the signed agreement," when the only thing we signed was a payment form with no refund terms in it at all. Before booking, I wish I'd noticed what I see now: many of the 5-star reviews on Google come from accounts with no other review history. Thankfully it looks like Trustpilot takes action and deletes fake reviews. Complaints are now on file with the FMCSA (Case #00293430) and BBB (#25137785). Edit: and now it looks like they’ve changed their business name to pretend like the genuine reviews people are leaving for them are for the wrong business, but the website address is still valueaddedmoving.com.
