USFCR is widely criticized for charging…
USFCR is widely criticized for charging thousands of dollars for basic administrative tasks that the federal government provides completely free of charge.
Every legitimate government portal—including SAM.gov, Grants.gov, and SBA certifications—costs zero dollars to file directly. Companies like USFCR use aggressive sales tactics and confusing marketing that closely resembles official government channels to sell glorified form-filling services to inexperienced business owners.
If you want free, legitimate assistance with government registrations or bid preparation, the government funds APEX Accelerators (formerly PTACs) specifically to help small businesses navigate the system without paying third-party middlemen.

USFCR is selling ice to Eskimos
I initially signed up from the Veterans Affairs website under the impression this was require to register. They immediately took my money and asked me to start gathering paperwork to register. I soon found out that I was doing all the work and they were just going to submit for me for a $700 fee. I asked for a refund and some guy name Peter claimed that they had "already made a file" and couldn't refund anything. I hadn't sent them any files yet, so I'm not sure what was in this $700 file. As a woman owned business, trying to make her business work, I'm sick of pushy salesmen telling me that I need their help to do simple things, while I'm doing all the work. Sorry but this guy Peter should get out and get a real job adding value to the economy instead of selling ice to Eskimos. His services maybe legal, but not ethical. USFCR may as well be ran from Somolia.

This company hassles people with SPAM…
This company hassles people with SPAM constantly. Renewing our SAM each year takes all of 15 minutes. This company starts sending SPAM for six months up to our renewal date. They write emails suggesting bad things can happen or that renewal is complex.
Try to imagine how many small businesses they hassle every year! Try to imagine the unnecessary fear they put into people without cause. They are a terrible company.

Service was delivered, but the renewal emails misstate your actual expiration date
I purchased a SAM.gov registration through USFCR in September 2025. The registration was completed and activated, and my assigned case manager was responsive and accurate every time I contacted him directly. Credit where it's due.
The renewals campaign is a different story.
Starting in late May 2026 I began receiving weekly emails from their renewals department with subject lines counting down my SAM registration expiration: 69 days, 62, 55, 48, 41, 34, 27, 20, and finally "FINAL NOTICE: SAM Registration Expires in 13 Day(s)." The body stated that after that date my registration would end and my business would become ineligible for federal contracts.
My SAM registration expires January 23, 2027. That is verifiable by anyone on the public entity search at sam.gov.
When I first questioned this back in May, my case manager replied in writing on June 1 confirming the January 2027 date and noting that it was my services with USFCR nearing expiration rather than the registration. The countdown emails kept arriving weekly for another eleven weeks anyway. The date they were counting toward was September 2, exactly one year from my purchase receipt, so the campaign was tracking my service contract anniversary while describing it as my government registration.
I also spoke with a phone representative who told me that my SAM registration would automatically expire if I stopped using USFCR, and that renewal must begin 120 days before expiration. Neither statement is accurate. SAM.gov registration and renewal are free, you can do them yourself, and there is no 120-day rule. She said she would remove me from the mailing list. Another email arrived a week later.
The emails contain no unsubscribe link.
For anyone considering this: SAM.gov registration is free at sam.gov, and APEX Accelerators (apexaccelerators.us) provide free one-on-one help with registration and government contracting. Both are worth knowing about before you pay anyone.
Two stars because the service I bought was delivered. The renewal messaging is the problem.
