Maybe they'll get better?
Knowing that criticism rolls downhill, those stars are ALL for the electrician David, and his crew. Professional and competent, would hire again.
ONE star, and only one would I give to the rest of the company.
That one star is mostly earned by Rodrigo and Ricardo for getting the company, reluctantly, belatedly, to reimburse us for *most* of the money the loan company wanted after Revolution Solar told them the work was done enough that we should start paying for it. SIX FULL MONTHS before the work was finished.
Aug 24, 2022: We signed papers contracting to have solar panels installed and interconnected with the local utility company.
Aug 28, 2023: Our panels started lowering our utility bill.
What happened in that year? In those 369 days? Read on for details.
Jan 25, 2023: Solar crew showed up and installed for the panels.
Feb 19: Panels up and boxes installed. No wires from them to anywhere, not even the installed boxes and no expected date on that yet.
February: Revolution sends some paperwork that they wanted signed, which included a paragraph certifying that the work was complete. We did not sign this, because they have still not come back to do any more work. As Fed rolls on, they try several strong arm tactics to try to convince us to sign; we continue to refuse.
Apr 13: Now we're getting billed from Enium, to whom the bank (Genisys) apparently immediately sold the loan after funding it. that funded the panels, and when we called to ask why we're being billed before the install is complete, Enium says Revolution sent Genisys paperwork saying it's done, and the contract we signed says we need to pay "even if no power is being generated". That sounds reasonable if it's like overcast or something, and no light gets to the panels, not if they never wire them. Bank says but they sent us paperwork saying it's done - did you not sign a completion form? We say no we never signed that, we repeatedly told them we won't until it's done, and now we're very very happy we stuck to that. So Enium is sending us a form to fill out to contest it.
May 10: So we still don't have hook up, or even a vague estimate of time. But Revolution sent paperwork out for us to sign off completion. Which, of course, we refused because it's not complete. Now, we have been fielding twice weekly collections calls, while we continue to tell the both Enium and Revolution that it's not OUR fault Revolution took the money, and not OUR fault Genisys paid out without verifying completion. So Revolution tells us they can't send the payment back (dunno why, pretty sure refunding incorrect payment is a thing most businesses can do) but Enium wants to get paid because that's how loans work. So the "compromise" is Revolution is supposed to be sending us checks to pay Enium with. Which took them several weeks to actually enact, we just got the first one this week. So … round robin payment circle and nobody's really happy.
June 26: Someone finally showed up (this is where David, remember David? David to whom all of the stars go) comes into the picture, to look at the solar panels and made a new totally different trenching plan for running wires to the meter.
Aug 20: David finishes the work, and we await inspections.
Aug 28: We finally have solar hooked up!
So. 5 stars for David, who did 70% of the work in one month. ONE star everyone else. Mostly earned by Ricardo and Rodrigo, with whom we only had a couple of months of interaction and they did get most of the billing reimbursed and tidied up the loose ends with the authorities.
Mostly, the waiting was understandable; everyone still adjusting to post-pandemic life and all. The spring and summer of dealing with collections calls and getting reimbursed, though, was very grating. Also irksome is that the reimbursements were slow enough that they failed to cover late fees and Revolution getting the disbursement so prematurely accelerated our interest rate increasing by 6 months, fully half of the promotional period.

With the state of the grid and failure rate with DTE I decided to go solar! Couldn't be more happy with my decision! Revolution Solar was a delight to work with. Peace of Mind
Was skeptical in the beginning, but the more they explained step by step how things go the more I was convinced Revolution Solar was the right company to go with. We have debated going solar for many years. Thought it was too expensive, but with the help of government discounts this was the right time. Once they started the process didn't take very long. We are very happy and it gives us peace of mind that we are helping the next generation as well as our own.
