Started out ok, now nearly three months in and still do not have a finished solar installation. Today they said it would be at least another three weeks. Remarkably poor communication across the company. One person will tell you they've noted something and will have someone reach out then when you call back and get someone else, they've never heard of your previous call. I've worked with Zach, Chris(I think), Sohik, Aspen, (someone else whose name starts with an A), Kimberly, Melanie, Jaylin, the installation folks, and the site inspector. I've had to call sales to get responses after days of no response. First site inspector brought a six foot ladder and his cell phone, no tape measure, no ladder tall enough to reach the roof. First agreed upon contract was sent back and could not be fulfilled because the sales people promise things before it goes to design or through an engineer. After that you cannot cancel without giving them 15% of the contract even if they cannot provide the agreed upon terms because their "alternative options cover their legal end". Currently the solar is mostly installed but they didn't bring all of the parts. Installers said someone would reach out to me, they didn't. A week went by and now I've been told they will need to schedule a service call and those "are scheduled for when the installers will be in your area again for another installation". I have many more examples through this particularly bad experience. They are not transparent. They do not price anything relative, it's all a game of multipliers. Avoid this(these, because they obfuscate their name through multiple companies) company, find someone local.
ETA: The company did reach out to offer $1500 to ease the annoyance and update me that they've been able to schedule the "service call" to finish the installation next week. I do appreciate the communication but I feel like it only happened because of the public reviews. This expedited "service call" is surprising because the phone call I had yesterday was in direct conflict of this; informing me that there wasn't any timeline available and they would "know more" next week, when they said they would reach out again. I continue to feel that I could never recommend this company.

If I could leave zero stars I would…
If I could leave zero stars I would have. We were sold the idea of solar panels in Feb of 2022. We were told at the time that it may take up to 45 days to complete it..... it is now Feb of 2023 and my panels have been installed for 7 months yet still don't function. Revolution solar says they are waiting on the utility company, yet the utility company has emailed me telling me that the solar contractor has missed several witness test appointments. They were supposed to be here on the 1st, then on the 7th, then on the 17th (which is today) all 3 times Revolution has been a no show. I have now filed a formal complaint to the financial institution, a complaint with the iowa AG, and am making this public review. They have consistently failed for an entire year and do nothing but make excuses with no results. I ABSOLUTELY WITH NO HESITATION RESPECTFULLY URGE ANYONE THAT IS INTERESTED IN GOING SOLAR TO FIND ANOTHER CONTRACTOR. I have emailed and spoken on the phone with the people of this company and they continue to fail over and over. I'm sure they will have some blanket response they will post about this review about how sorry they are for my experience and blah, blah, blah... don't buy into it, they suck. Flat out suck.

No action to complete
I have my solar panels up - for 4 months now - but I still don't have them hooked up. I have made numerous calls to different offices of this organization - still no resolution - after 9 months form my first contact. I would not recommend this company. That having been said - the team they sent from Gig Harbor to install the panels were great. It's the only piece of this fiasco that went well. Don't use this company.

Still waiting...
In my opinion, Solar is the Wild West of Energy Systems. I believe the most energy-efficient remedy for the hubris of Solar companies is through “exposure”, the kind that leaves a company no choice but to reevaluate the path that led to a certain point and with all due respect, make it right with the customers involved.
After posting the above information on 12/2/2022, was contacted almost immediately by several people from Revolution Solar Energy Systems. I was told by Megan Jones on 12/7/2022 I would have my Solar Panels activated on 12/9/2022. Here is a summary of work/interaction with Revolution Solar Energy Systems.
12/9 – Cornbelt Energy stated the system design submitted was not the system to be activated and therefore, not approved. I was without power all day.
I received a call from Megan (Wootton) Jones at Revolution Solar on 12/9/2022 asking if my solar was active. During the 10-minute call, I explained that I had been without power for over 8 hours and needed to dispose of much of the food in the fridge, based on the 4-hour recommendation from the USDA. I stated, the biggest complaint was the lack of communication and central point of contact throughout the process. I explained as a small business owner I take every customer very seriously and work to make sure the customer is satisfied. I made a point that I was trying to address this personally and coolly and not escalate to the point of using profanity. I left her with a question to answer, “HOW WOULD YOU MAKE THIS SITUATION RIGHT?”. This is on top of the stated and expected loan and utility bills to be reimbursed for the months of October and November. She said that was a very thought-provoking question and she would get back to me.
During the week of December 12th Revolution Solar was out again to reconfigure my solar system. This is also when Bradley Schlesak called me to meet the city inspector and utility company, it was at this time, he identified himself as the “project manager” for this effort. He verbally stated this project was a “Crap Show”.
On 12/16/2022, Cornbelt Energy reviewed the solar system and granted the Permission to Operate. HOWEVER, I was expecting a call back from Revolution Megan Jones, based on our conversation on 12/9.
Megan has yet to respond to my text or follow up with a phone call. I liken the customer situation to the following example, if at a restaurant I order a dish and it comes prepared with a human hair or insect in it I should expect an immediate replacement. This brings the situation to “net 0” or balance. However, it leaves a “bad” taste in the mouth. To make the situation right the manager/chef should come out to make appends (this goes above and beyond a verbal apology). This is standard customer service. This is NOT my experience with Revolution Solar Energy Systems or the parent provider of USA Clean Energy Association.
On 12/21/2022 I was contacted again by project manager, Brad Schesak, to inform me that he was “monitoring” my solar and everything looked good. However, I stated that I still had not received any information on how I can actually track my solar production. He stated I should have received it when the panels were installed. Well, chalk this up to another item that was not communicated as expected. I received my first email to register for the Solar Edge Monitoring app on 12/21 at 4:34pm after asking multiple times.
NOTE: I also found something of the utmost concern! Upon getting access to the Solar Edge app, I noticed it was tracking energy production prior to activation. I have noticed something quite interesting, in November, I used 925 kWh of electricity from Cornbelt. However, I only produced 293 kWh of solar energy. I contracted and am paying for 109% of my energy usage. The ratio of energy usage and production is only 31.6%. Additionally, some of the panels which were supposed to be on the south-facing roof top are not there an instead on a shadowed section of the west-facing rooftop. I don’t have the final December energy usage numbers from Cornbelt but will be sure to post my analysis over the next few months. Needless to say, the trend appears to be a non-satisfactory one.
I’d be more than willing to give an account of my experience or testimony to anyone who would like it. I have linked what I could find for Revolution Solar and USA Clean Energy Association to help others make an informed decision. If you will note, there are other customers just like me on the BBB.
I’m waiting for your call or text Megan. I am looking for a way to get this resolved from one small business owner to another.
Please advise.
