Two Years and 3 Sets Later They're Still Great
Over the last 2 years I've purchased 3 sets of Upstep orthotics. I'm 78 years old and many years ago when I was in the Marine Corps a machine gun tripod fell on my left foot. A lot of pain, but just went on with life. About 25 years ago I noticed a lump forming on my left foot's inner arch. Ignored it for many more years until it became pretty large and finally went to doctor. Turns out I had broken the inner metatarsal bone all those years earlier and over all these years a buildup of bone around the break has occurred. Doctor said the best solution was an orthotic for which he'd charge almost $500, which wasn't covered by any insurance. I started looking on the Internet and found several companies, including Upstep. One company's orthotic was uncomfortable because it had a splice across the area where I had the problem, but the Upstep was one molded piece that fit perfectly with a nice depression for my damage metatarsal bone. This took all the pressure off that area and has allowed me to resume my physical training activity. In addition, the orthotics have held up very well in both my New Balance running shoes and my everyday casual shoes. I'm very satisfied with the fit and quality of my Upstep insoles and will probably be getting another set for a new pair of exercise shoes soon.
