I paid for a suite. 7 nights. $16,000 for two people. Given a cramped standard room. They sent a butler and now they say they have provided a suite, but it’s a standard room.
The cruise itinerary consists of being bused into towns. There is an exceedingly slow and dull tour guide. No palaces. Lunch is not provided.
It is such a waste of money and it is not as promised,

Unreponsive to Calls
Every time I try to call Uniworld to discuss a new cruise, I am put on hold for 10 minutes or more. This is annoying and does not happen with Viking. Not sure why they can't be more responsive. A poor business practice.

Very disappointing customer service…
Very disappointing customer service when we needed it most
We booked a dream trip to South America with Uniworld, but just eight days before departure I suffered a stroke and was medically advised not to travel. Losing the holiday with 100% non-refundable was devastating enough, but the way Uniworld handled the process made an already difficult situation far worse.
A cancellation invoice that should have taken minutes to issue dragged on for 16 days. We were passed from one agent to another, with nobody taking ownership of the case. During that time, Uniworld issued the wrong cancellation invoice three times, and the matter was only resolved after we corrected the invoice ourselves and sent it back to them.
What disappointed us most was the complete lack of empathy. Instead of understanding and support during a serious medical emergency, we experienced repeated mistakes, delays, poor attention to detail and unnecessary stress. We sort recompense, finally emailing a Director, but none was forthcoming and worryingly, the issues were dismissed by the Director as 'minor administrative issues'!
Uniworld advertises exceptional personal service and customer care. Sadly, that was not our experience when we needed it most.
Before this happened, we fully intended to rebook this trip for 2027 or 2028. Instead, our confidence in the Uniworld brand has been so badly damaged that we are now looking elsewhere.
The greatest disappointment is that this unnecessary stress came while I was recovering from a stroke, at a time when my medical team had specifically advised me to avoid stress. My wife was equally distressed by the entire experience.
It's easy to deliver good service when everything goes to plan. The real measure of a company is how it treats customers when things go wrong. On that measure, Uniworld let us down badly and we won't use them again.

The brochure spin V the reality.
Had an utterly dreadful experience with Uniworld Cruises. We book as this was supposed to be the pinnacle of luxury.
We booked a suite at significant cost, the butler was essentially argumentative and combative on almost every request, ie when we asked for replacement drinks he replied "I've 27 cabins to deal with before I can do that!"
The brochures are utter nonsense compared with the pared down service you actually recieve. For example we asked for sparkling water for our room and was told they'd only got limited supplies as their 'sustainability' policy dictates that they serve tap water (as they do with all meals) drinking heavily chlorinated water at every meal isn't luxury. This is despite the brochures stating your butler will meet all drink requests.
The wines served with meals are not premium wines as the brochures state, they are what you'd typically pay £8 for in a UK supermarket. Of course there is a long list of wines, but you of course have to pay crazy prices for them.
The brochure again states 'we have no set times, the bar closes when the last person leaves' again utter rubbish as we were all told they weren't serving after 12pm.
I could go on, but I cannot begin to say how dreadful Uniworld are and it has put us off river cruising for life.
Point of note, do not believe any of their Feefo reviews as they are cherry picked by the company. For example I shared back my feedback and filed a complaint with Uniworld afterwards. They've not had the decency to reply at all. And guess what? They've not sent me a link to the 'invite only' Feefo reviews.
I cannot stress how much I would discourage you from booking with Uniworld unless you want a world of pain.

slow and unresponsive customer…
slow and unresponsive customer care.....they process your payment in 6 hours or less, but take 30 + days to process a refund.....they say they are busy....BS....if you can not do at the little things right, then we know you will mess up the big things......going to stick with Viking and Tauck.
Up to 41 days now on my refund. But they are good on their excuses

Disgusting and immoral customer service
My mother was booked to go on a trip with uni world this month however, although being a healthy and seemingly well 58 year old she was diagnosed with a terminal cancer in November and died just 6 weeks later, before she was even meant to go on the trip. We contacted the company to let them know the situation that she would not be coming and if we could get a refund for her costs. We were told no as we had contacted them within 3 months of her leaving for the trip and it would therefore fall under the 0% refund policy (even though the person going on the trip has been diagnosed and died in that time period??). We were further told to ‘go through our travel insurance’ if we wanted to claim money back, putting further burden on an already grieving family. This came across as completely insensitive and immoral to not have any consideration for the situation at hand. We have decided to not even go through the process as we already have an overwhelming amount of admin to do as is to be expected when someone passes away.
Further to this, the day she was meant to be picked up at her destination (ironically falling on the date of her funeral) I recieved a call asking where she was and why she was late. I was completely dumbfounded to be receiving this call as I had multiple conversations with customer service about her not being on the trip. This highlights the lack of internal communication within the company and wider community, and gave me an even sourer taste in my mouth.
I would strongly advise against using this company and looking elsewhere for a travel agency that has more compassion and understanding. Granted I am in quite a unique situation, but I would not recommend Uniworld to anyone

They gave us a credit for problems on Egypt tour in 2023, and then refused to extend it 10 days to book another trip in early 2026. One problem compounded by another. Customer service is terrible.
