When my mother died a special needs trust was established for my sister according to my mother's will and I was trustee. I had no idea what to do. After several months of anxiety about this I was directed to True Link by a lawyer. I talked to someone at True Link who was so helpful and kind. She explained the services and directed me to a page on their website on what the money could be spent on and what it couldn't. I was so relieved to have this information. Also the debit card prevents improper use (on things like restaurants) that my sister has trouble remembering which gives me further peace of mind. I have set up an automatic monthly deposit on the debit card for her and she has learned how to check the balance. All things have gone smoothly. She has independence in spending the money without losing her state benefits. This makes both of us happy and is what my mother wanted for her!

True Link was a God send for us. I am the trustee for a beneficiary that needed nursing home care. Because of the monthly stipend from the trust ($200) she was having trouble qualifying for Medicaid payment for the nursing home care. By establishing the True Link account, I was able to get a credit card in her daughter's name, the primary care giver, so the funds could be used for her benefit but did not count as income.

I have to make a detailed report to the court every year that accounts for every spent penny by my daughter for whom I am her conservator. This reporting requirement is tied to her Special Needs Trust, and is very thorough. For several years, Tru Link has been providing me with both Quickbooks and Quicken monthly summaries that make it possible for me and my accountant to sort out the reasons for each expense, and how to categorize them in the budget. Sometimes due to my own oversight, these reports have become lost in the "mountain" of email I seem to accumulate, but on request, Tru Link has always been quick to re-send them with no complaints or warnings that I am exceeding their good graces! For that I am extremely grateful! The advisories "in the moment" via text regarding spending essentially in progress, has on several occasions helped me keep close "tabs" on my daughters spending, and alleviated inappropriate spending on her behalf that had been occurring prior to our use of a Tru Link account.

They got back to me very quickly with this: "Thank you for your email and great question. While at this time we do not offer a report that can generate the running balance, I do agree that this would be an excellent type of report to offer. I also want to confirm that I've shared your message with a supervisor on our Product Development team for review."

A great way to dispense funds to those that need guidance. I have also used it for caregivers so that personal credit cards/ debit cards are not handed over! Easy to monitor spending. True Link customer support is great to work with on any questions or issues. Over the years I have been impressed with their constant upgrades and improvements to their site. They listen to the clients. The fees are my only complaint- they seem a bit steep for those that may be struggling and every dollar counts!

True Link was the solution to a very expensive problem: a sweet woman who never balanced a checkbook in her life, and never remembered when a "trial membership" was due to end. Everyone I've communicated with at True Link is both knowledgeable and kind! Once I reported a problem on a weekend--and I was amazed to receive a quick and helpful reply in a matter of hours. It sounds crazy, but I really believe they CARE.
