My experience with Truehost has been extremely disappointing. My website has been down due to a server-related issue, and despite contacting their customer support, I have been waiting over four days for a resolution. Four days of website downtime is absolutely unacceptable for a company that claims to provide reliable web hosting services. What makes the situation even worse is their horrendous customer support, painfully slow response times, and apparent lack of urgency in resolving critical server issues. When a customer's website is offline, every hour matters. Businesses depend on their websites for credibility, communication, and revenue. Truehost's handling of this issue demonstrates a serious lack of accountability and commitment to customer satisfaction. A hosting provider that cannot promptly resolve critical server issues or communicate effectively with affected customers cannot be considered reliable. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service and would strongly discourage anyone running a serious business website from relying on Truehost based on my experience. One star is generous for this level of service.

Hello, We sincerely apologise for the prolonged downtime and the frustration this experience has caused. We understand that when a website goes offline, it can affect a business's operations, reputation, and revenue. Waiting four days for a resolution is understandably frustrating, and we recognise the importance of timely support when critical services are affected. We take your concerns about the server issue, response times, and communication seriously. This experience falls short of the level of service we strive to provide, and we would appreciate the opportunity to review what happened and understand why the issue has taken so long to resolve. Please contact us at [email protected] or call +254 207 903 111, referencing this review and providing your domain name or support ticket number. This will help us follow up on the matter with the relevant team. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Been shared hosting since the 1998 and have gone through many hosts over the years. TrueHost is the worse experience I've ever had. So many technical issues just crop up and getting support to fix problems on their end to get my sites back online has taken days and days of being down. Email only and no phone support at all. Storage hard cap at 87GB even in unlimited plan. Multiple times of just having FTP accounts disappear as well as entire directories just gone (good I kept back ups on my own local drives) to re-upload to the server. Multiple times of their just randomly changing the IP address so I have to go over to my domain registrar and point the IP to the "new" one to get the sites to show up. Seriously, AVOID this host!!!

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologise for the repeated technical issues, prolonged downtime, and difficulties you have faced in getting your websites back online. This is not the experience we want our customers to have, particularly when they depend on us to keep their businesses and websites running. We would like to investigate these issues and understand where we fell short so that the necessary corrective action can be taken. Please contact us at [email protected] or call +254 207 903 111, referencing this review and sharing the affected domain names. Truehost is very bad in communication. The agents are unprofessional. You register a domain and still have to call them to activate it manually.
Response from TrueHostSep 24, 2026
Hello Mpho Mothibe, We sincerely apologize for the experience and for the frustration caused by the delay in activating your domain. We have reviewed the matter and can confirm that the domain has now been activated. The delay was an activation issue rather than a requirement for customers to manually contact us for every domain registration. Our domain registration and activation process is fully automated, and we are reviewing the cause of this delay to help prevent similar occurrences in the future. We also regret that your interaction with our support team did not meet the level of professionalism and communication we expect. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
