The food at True Food Kitchen (Hackensack,NJ) is for the most part good. However, each time I’ve been it’s been inconsistent which is extremely disappointing. The food is not cheap. I ordered takeout recently on three separate occasions. The first time the turkey burger was small and the fries were dry. The presentation was not good. The second time I ordered the turkey burger was amazing. The fries were not dry and the presentation was great. The fries came in the same container as the turkey burger and not in a separate cardboard box. The last time I ordered it was the same experience as the first time I ordered. I am really rethinking whether or not I want to ever order any food from true food kitchen in Hackensack New Jersey anymore,

This is an update to my previous post. The day after it went online True Foods Kitchen’s general manager contacted me. He wanted to correct the situation and offered several options. I suggested he comp our bill instead and he agreed. He refunded the whole amount including the tip within a few days. I am very happy as is my son who I reimbursed for the cost of his ruined clothing.

Subject: Serious Food Safety and Service Concerns I am writing to express my deep disappointment with a recent dining experience at your restaurant. We were celebrating a family birthday when one member of our party discovered a live crawling bug in her salad while eating it. We immediately notified our server, who did not appear concerned and simply removed the dish without offering a sincere apology or explanation. This lack of urgency and professionalism was very troubling given the seriousness of the issue. My daughter-in-law then ordered a replacement entrée, which took approximately 30 minutes to arrive. By that time, the rest of our party had already finished their meals, significantly detracting from what was supposed to be a special celebration. What concerned me even more was what I observed when walking past the kitchen area. The kitchen appeared filthy, with food debris and trash scattered across the floor. Staff members were standing around talking rather than actively maintaining cleanliness. This raises serious concerns about food safety, sanitation standards, and overall management oversight. This experience was unacceptable on multiple levels: Food safety violation (insect in meal) Poor service response Excessive delay in replacement food Unsanitary kitchen conditions I would appreciate a prompt response outlining how this situation will be addressed. At a minimum, I believe this warrants investigation and corrective action to ensure other guests do not have a similar experience. Sincerely, G. Miller

Great food. Great service

Service slow. Very slow. Food was just okay. Terribly expensive for a restaurant with mediocre atmosphere and average bland food.

I find it very interesting after reading some of the reviews on here that they’re either horrible or it was the best experience they had in their life. I guess it depends upon who you are and where you go unfortunately, my experience with the true food kitchen was not pleasant. In fact, I ended up with food poisoning for 69th birthday friends came into town to help me celebrate. My friend recommended we go to true food kitchen in downtown Summerlin, Nevada as she had recently gone to the TFK in Arizona and loved it. Upon being seated we were served by Mike, who seemed to be a pleasant person. I ordered just basic chicken tenders. I can’t remember the actual name of it, but it came with a salad, when I placed my order Mike asked me if I want the fries or the salad so I chose the fries because I thought it was an option fries or salad When the meal came the presentation was awful the french fries looked like they had sat out for two days and then sat under a heat lamp. The chicken tenders look like they were warmed over as well. They were very dry and un flavorful. I ate 1 1/4 chicken tenders and a few fries, which were terrible dried out and stale. When Mike brought the check, I explained about the french fries and he said that’s not the first time he’s heard that today don’t worry you’re not paying for the french fries so when he brought the check, I noticed that the price was still the same as on the menu and I asked him about it and he said oh well that’s because the fries were taken off, but the fries were extra because they were a side order, again I thought I had an option between a salad or fries so just went ahead and paid for it everything not wanting to make a big fuss, my friends insisted I take the chicken I didn’t eat home which I did, and immediately threw them in the trash literally throwing money away the cost of the meal, was $21 and some change Shortly after leaving there, my stomach started hurting. I’ve been sick with for the past 2 days and counting. I can honestly say I will never again patronize this restaurant. I love the idea of the clean food, but if it’s just an ideal and not a reality, it’s no good for me.

Father’s Day we had reservation at 2:05 ,with reservation , we waited 20 minutes and was sited inside instead of patio!!! We ordered pizza but was not cooked and tasteless!!! We ordered 5 meals all of them dry , cold very very lousy presentation and taste. We spent around $180 for shit they served.
