Our guide Fito knew everything about Costa Rica birds, and did a good job of getting us into position for photo images.

Sometimes the problem is not the Tour but the participants. Over-eager photographers can spoil things for others at times.

Tour itself and leader were excellent. However, the transportation van was woefully inadequate, uncomfortable, and ill suited for the tour.

I have taken two tours with Tropical Birding Tours and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a serious birding tour! The guides are extremely knowledgeable and work very hard to maximize the number of species seen. The tour group size isn't too large and overall the tours have seemed appropriately paced for the participants. The accommodations were great, the food great, the door-to-door service from/to the airport was a very nice touch! Overall I think Tropical Birding Tours is a great company and I would go with them on another tour anytime!

Considering how bone dry the area was that we birded, our guide did a remarkable job in getting us as many birds as possible. There were no issues with accommodations or food. Everything went off without a hitch. Great experience.

The guides were excellent at finding and showing us the birds. We would have appreciated a little more free/relaxing time. The food and lodging were generally good. Some of our early mornings made breakfast a little challenging. The tour size was great, 6 participants and 2 or more guides the whole time.

Birding guides were excellent and worked hard. Accommodations variable but always at least adequate. Variety of habitats visited enabled us to see an impressive number of species during the tour.
