I'm impressed by their trip planning capabilities but have yet to book with them until I have a more complicated itinerary.

First off, let me say that if you get Silvio as your guide you are in for a great experience. He is a terrific guide. While we didn't take the Pablo Escobar tour, that one is his specialty. If I just were rating the guide, Silvio would get five stars. My issue with this tour was that our trip to Santa fe de Antioquia was a bust. We went on New Year's day and were supposed to have been met by a local guide who failed to show up. Since Silvio normally does not give tours of that city that was not his fault. I am not happy with Medellin City Tours as they should have been more proactive when the problem arose and we never heard from them afterwards.

We used TripHobo to book "Day Trip to Saona Island and Altos de Chavon" and a second tour "Outback Safari Adventure from Punta Cana" in the Dominican Republic. Booking in TripHobo was easy and cheaper than simliar tours through Viator. The Saona Island tour went smoothly and we had a wonderful time. The catamaran to Saona Island was relaxing and fun and we really enjoyed the beautiful Altos de Chavon. Wish we had a bit more time to explore and take photos there! The Outback Safari adventure was also fun, although we prefered the Saona Islanda tour. Thank you TripHobo for helping make our vacation so memorable!

Seamless and efficient booking.

I had a wonderful time on this tour and while the weather was poor and cold, the mountain was beautiful! It was convenient that we only had to buy this and our "tickets" for the cable car up and down the mountain were covered. However, although "independent" is in the title, it was unclear to us that this tour was UNGUIDED. I thought it meant that it was an independent company. We waited for a guide at the boat stop and almost missed the only boat for the next three hours, so luckily we made it on. It could've been made clearer in the description that absolutely everything is on our own. Also, it can be easy to get lost on the mountain and it was unclear what types of rides on the cable cars were covered, whether only the trip up and down or also those in between.
