I got IPTA when it was brand new
I got access to IPTA when it was brand new a few years ago, so I was able to study and test for free, which was great! I found the study materials to be accurate, but at the time there were a lot of editing errors, and the textbook could’ve used better organization. The test was straightforward, and I passed. I used my certification and the knowledge I learned there to help me study for the NSCA test (unfortunately most gyms/hiring companies didn’t recognize IPTA, and required a more well-known, well-established personal training certificate). Again, this was a few years ago, so as time goes on, I’m sure IPTA will become more well known and recognized.

Thank you for the thoughtful review, Emily, and congratulations on passing both the IPTA exam and the NSCA! We love hearing that the knowledge you built with us carried over into your continued studies. You're right that our earliest materials had editing errors and could have been better organized. Feedback from early students like you is exactly what drove the revisions since then. The textbook has been thoroughly edited and restructured, and we continue to refine the study materials on an ongoing basis. On recognition, we have some good news for you specifically. The IPTA CPT is now NCCA accredited, the same accreditation standard held by the most established certifications in the industry. Exams like yours from those early days were part of what helped us earn that accreditation, and as a result, your passed exam and certification carry the same NCCA accreditation today. We also back the certification with a job placement guarantee, and employer recognition has grown substantially since you tested. We appreciate you giving us a chance when we were brand new, and we wish you continued success in your training career!
