**Update: yes they contacted me but never really got an answer, they just stop responding. Bottom line the food is really good and I received some help on them shipping wrong meals. I’m changing my star rating due to those two things at this time. ** So far I’m not impressed. I did chat with what they call customer service. I was asking why I was charged more for my meals than what the description stated. The reply was maybe this or maybe that. I wanted an answer and received none. I asked for someone to actually look and again no real answer. I was told there was nothing they could do. Ok well customer service is horrible and that is usually the first thing to show a company’s reputation on how they will be to work with. I asked what steps would I need to take if I wanted to cancel and return oven. The reply? We canceled your service and will let you know how to return oven. No refund for food delivering tomorrow or returns. Ok. Let’s go back to the beginning!! I only asked WHY????! WHY ARE YOU CHARGING ME MORE. NO ANSWER EXCEPT GUESSING! I left Hungry root for this? By the way, great customer service and food with Hungry. I only switched because Tovala advertised GLP1 meals and I thought it would be nice to have that option. Very disappointed and I was looking forward to this opportunity. First meals deliver tomorrow and this is my experience so far.

The marketing got me hooked, a "free" oven if I order 6 weeks of meals. Since my old toaster oven was over 20 years old, I decided to upgrade. The meals are decent and extremely easy to put together, but there are limitations. When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail, as they say. Not all dishes are suitable to be cooked by oven, but Tovala attempts to do this, scorching vegetables that are better cooked stovetop in a saute pan, or steamed. Portions are decent and cook times are mostly under 30 minutes. They do go the the excess extreme on cook times so I start the oven and put the food trays in a minute or two into the cooking time. Cost is a little high, so I've found myself skipping weeks unless I anticipate a busy week where easy meals make the most sense.

I had a meal delivered that I did not request. Customer service credited my account a somewhat discount 4 reorder. Also my husband is on a low-salt diet. I would love to see a specific menu for low salt diets so I don't have 2 read every dish to find something he can eat and enjoy!!!

Our first few orders were ok, but after that we started having issues with missing/incorrect items in our orders. Most of the meals are decent, but pricing is too high for the portion size. Quality control is non existent, and customer service reps are completely indifferent. Unfortunate, as we still would have continued ordering if not for the recurring issues with our orders.

I just tried it for the first time and I know customer service is great. The oven is not hard to set up but it could be for people who are not tech savvy. The meal that I had had no vegetables it was protein and carbs. It was also very small in size. It did not taste bad, but so far I am not extremely impressed.

Pros: The food is good. We've had it for about 6 months and enjoyed everything Cons: They screw up. In the early days, several packages were not delivered on time. Once, I received vacuum sealed chicken that was not sealed and leaked chicken juice all over everything else. We had to toss that meal and clean the others. We were credited for the one meal, but not for the shipping. Most recently, they left out the flatbread on TWO pizzas that we ordered. Again, they credited the meals (toward future orders), but here's the rub... the shipping for three meals was $9.99. They messed up two. So... I paid $10 to have one meal delivered??? Every time they mess up, I get hosed on the shipping AND I only get receive a credit toward future purchases? They keep the cash? I want to love this company, but I firmly believe that I shouldn't have to throw a fit in order to motivate a service provider to treat me fairly. If I had been treated fairly, I'd still be in love AND I would recommend to family and friends. But, with a track record like this? No way. For those keeping score, full refunds including a portion of the shipping charge is what SHOULD have happened. Future credits for only a portion of the screw up is not fair to the customer. I think we're done here.
