I liked the course, thought the feedback was good enough. No complaints there. BUT I felt he worked faithfully every, single day of the school week, and submitted something to be graded or resubmitted daily! Yet, he was one graded task from being able to finish, but couldn't just work ahead to finish, because we had to wait one day in between each task!!! It is very hard to get through with the course in time alotted, if It takes 24 hours to have something graded, then another 24 hours once you made corrections before it is officially graded, so that you can move to next task! That makes it one full week just to get 2 and a half teacher graded tasks done!!! We only missed maybe 2 days during our course period, one of which my Dad was having major heart test done! I wrote the teacher to see about trying to rush through last 2 graded tasks! I didn't seem to get a response! I love the course idea, and the teacher feedback, but it can be too slow, and if it's slow, there is not enough time to finish! You ought to give at least one more week to finish course! We were to the final paragraph ( in my opinion most important, last section) and he didn't get to finish that last teacher graded task in able to get the finished course diploma! Makes me annoyed! I spent good money on this course, he should've been allowed to finish when he was that close!!!

We certainly can appreciate that some students may need extra time in which to accomplish certain things and we encourage parents to take this into consideration when enrolling in our courses. Families appreciate the time structure of eight topics in eight weeks, and this gets most students through the courses with time to spare. Just like a typical school course, completing the work in the allotted time is important. This helps to teach students time management, and it allows us to offer the same teacher for the same course all the way through (most of the time). Keeping a good student/teacher ratio is important to us, as it helps us to ensure that all students will get an equal amount of teacher attention. Consistent course size is a huge factor in our ability to provide meaningful feedback at an affordable price. As we share with parents in our initial Time4Writing communications, if you run into a timing issue, we offer two great options: a complimentary 7 day extension and a dormancy option that allows you to put your account on a one-time hold for up to a month for just $5. Our parent checkin emails (at 3 days, 2 weeks, and mid-course) also ensure that parents know whether a student is on schedule or not. Of course, our goal is to improve writing skills to all of our students, but it is important to plan to log in 3-5 times a week, Monday through Friday, in order to achieve this. We offer courses year-round, so families can choose a time of year that will be best for their student to excel. We hope you'll consider us for additional coursework. Time4Writing can be a great tool to help students improve their writing skills. The teacher we have is good and the feedback is constructive. However, my child is not able to complete the amount of assignments required within the strict 8-week timeline and therefore, we will have to pay for at least a one month extension. My child is only about half way through the course and yet has only 1 week remaining to reach the deadline. My child has special circumstances and a robust curriculum of other school work. In addition, my child has trouble with writing and takes much more time to write than the average student, which is why we choose an online course with a teacher. However, Time4Writing will not make any exceptions whatsoever, and they do not account for special situations. I do not understand why Time4Writing has such a rigid timeline and deadline for this online curriculum. The amount of time it would take to complete a course, beyond 8-weeks, does not require more time from the teachers. Students only turn-in and receive feedback as they move along within the course, so there is no additional work required by the teachers. In order to receive the "Certificate of Completion" I will be paying for the extra weeks until the course is completed. However, we will no longer continue to use Time4Writing once this course is completed and I will be choosing a different writing curriculum for my student.

One thing that helps with course completion is that while they are waiting on feedback, students can go ahead and continue with lessons and quizzes up to the next graded assignment.
