Good feedback from teachers - nice to have real teachers on the other end of the application who are vested in the children's success

Our teachers are at the core of what makes Time4Writing such a helpful and successful program for so many students. Thank you for sharing how their input made a difference in your case as well. We are thrilled to know that!

My son learned a great deal this summer in the middle school essay course. There is a big change in his writing from when he started. The teacher gave effective feedback along the way. She gave positive feedback but was not shy about giving developmental feedback. The developmental feedback was critical to his success. The only suggestion I would have is to give a teacher summary at the end of the course about the student's progression from beginning to end. It seemed like the feedback was minimal towards the end. He was doing his best work for the final essays. Positive feedback that seemed individualized to the student's essay would have been welcomed. It would have provided a lift in confidence as my son headed off to school. It seemed as though the class ended abruptly. All in all, however, it was a very good course.

I had my 15 year old son work through this course. It was affordable and very focused and paced correctly. I think it really helped him to narrow in on common errors and perfect his writing. It was a wonderful supplement to his studies.

Janel, I'm so glad your son had a successful experience with his High School Mechanics course. Mastery of mechanics is so vital to almost every composition a high schooler will write! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your positive results and we look forward to having him in another course really soon!

Awesome course for kids, and clear feedback for the student. Great crash course, especially for "catching up," in a short space of time. Great for homeschooling gaps and catch up, also.

Elementary Paragraphs My overall experience with Time4Writing is soso. It has the potential to be a fantastic course. I have already spoken to my education advisor at the charter school we attend informing her that this is basically a supplemental course for those that do not struggle with writing. The 8 weeks given to take the course is enough time for those that do not need to take multiple days to complete a teacher graded assignment and who will for the most part not need to resubmit multiple assignments. If your student needs more time to complete the writing and consistently needs feedback from the teacher then you will have to pay for an extension, which easily turns this class into a money pit just to not complete the course anyway. The instruction are often unclear to both the student and the parent making the course time much longer than it could be. If the course had more teacher interaction before the assignments were submitted, not just feedback from the teacher after submission, then the course would be more practical. Instructional videos explaining the instructions and expectations for the assignments would be extremely helpful. It is not practical to expect the student to email the teacher to ask questions that they most likely don't even know they need to ask until they get feedback. Hind sight is 2020! It is my hope that this review help Time4Writing know where improvements are needed and to inform parents and teachers of struggling writers that this is not the best course for them. If you are looking to supplement your curriculum for a non-struggling writer, then this may be just what you are looking for.

Beverly, we are so appreciative that you took the time to follow-up on your experience with the course. Our whole operations team has viewed your explanation of the frustrations your student was up against with the time constraints and resubmissions, and we will have some discussions of ways we can continue to improve the student/teacher communications as well as instructions for completion. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and because customer service is such an important part of the Time4Writing mission, we hope you'll feel free to contact us by phone (855) 771-0915 or by email ([email protected]) if you have anything to add to your review. Middle School Essay Writing helped my 8th grade son be more prepared for high school writing assignments. The topics challenged him. He received professional and helpful feedback in improving his writing. Often, he was asked to resubmit assingments. This made him reevaluate his work, edit and revise it to produce an even better essay. I appreciate all the hard work the instructor put into guiding him. I highly recommend this course for 8th graders wanting to feel more competent.
