We had a very disappointing experience…
We had a very disappointing experience with Thryv. Our company invested a significant amount of money with them over many years, even before they became Thryv, and unfortunately we saw little to no measurable results from their digital marketing and SEO services. We requested to cancel all services prior to 2025 for both of our companies. One account was cancelled, but the other was not. The account manager handling our request later left the company, and we were told there was “no record” of the cancellation request for the remaining services. We were then informed that each individual service required a separate cancellation request, despite clearly requesting to cancel all digital and print services. As a result, we were billed for print advertising services we did not approve and later contacted by collections regarding those charges. This was extremely frustrating, especially considering our long payment history and years of business with the company. We even gave Thryv another opportunity by signing back up for digital services later on, paid on time throughout the contract, and still did not experience meaningful results or improvement in lead generation. Overall, the experience was disappointing, communication was inconsistent, and the billing dispute process was very frustrating. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Thryv. This is my response to Thryv reply: Thank you for your response. I would still like this matter reviewed further because I genuinely believe there was a misunderstanding regarding the cancellation of services. I have email evidence showing that I attempted to cancel services with our account manager, Jenna Takenishi, in March 2023. In one of my emails, I specifically stated: “Just continue the website service and cancel everything else.” At the time, I believed this request was sufficient to stop the remaining advertising services. Jenna was our active account manager, and I had no knowledge that she later resigned from the company. After taking over management of these accounts in 2022, I relied on communication with Thryv representatives to manage and cancel services appropriately. What has been especially frustrating is that this matter has now been sent to collections despite my good-faith efforts to communicate and resolve the issue. We were long-time customers well before Thryv, dating back to Vivial and earlier advertising relationships. Over the years, we invested significantly in advertising under Bob’s Sweetwater Pumping Service, B and B Pumping Services, and now 2B Environmental Inc. Additionally, we recently signed up again with Thryv, and even during that experience we encountered cancellation and billing issues that required us to dispute charges. This reinforced my concern that there may be ongoing problems with how cancellation requests are processed and communicated. I respectfully request a good-faith review of the account history, cancellation communications, and billing timeline, especially considering the email evidence showing my intent to cancel all services except the website.
