Dishonest, ignored, shirt quality not what it used to be
First I want to say that I used to love Threadless as a company. My wardrobe is full of their shirts. It had been a couple years since I made a purchase on Threadless, which I decided to do this holiday season for both gifts and myself. What a mistake that was.
I'm one of the lucky customers that received their order in time for Christmas, but that was likely only due to how often I was emailing their customer service. A few of the shirts I ordered were custom printed shirts. It took them 2 weeks after my order was placed to even print my shirts. Apparently the company was wildly backed up on orders yet STILL continued to take orders without ANY notice to customers about the delay. In fact it was noted on every shirt on their site that they would ship in 3-5 days. What a lie. They did expedite my shipping to try ad correct the problem... But when I received the shirts, I noticed a HUGE difference in the print quality on the custom printed items. The shirts look awful. The print quality looks like something I could have done on my cheap $20 home computer printer. The art is blurry on the shirts, and the colors are way off. Not only that, but after a single wash the artwork has faded so much that I'm afraid to wash them again. I'm convinced that after 5 more washes the designs are going to completely fade off of the shirt.
I emailed them 7 days ago about the cheap, awful quality shirts and they still have not answered me. I don't expect they will.
After this experience I will no longer be shopping at threadless. It's become apparent to me that the new owners only care about making a quick buck, and don't care about their products or customers. What a shame, because Threadless was once an amazing company.

Dishonest.
Ordered in plenty of time for Christmas. They took my money, sent a confirmation, but nothing but silence since. Emails have been responded to with auto-replys saying that a "friendly" service person would contact me soon. But nothing. I was very happy with them in the past but this order is a nightmare. Read they had been sold, the new owners seem intent on just ripping off previously loyal customers.

Never, never again.
Ordered over a dozen shirts in early December that were to be family Christmas gifts. I chose shirts that were "in-stock," and even selected (and paid for) NEXT DAY SHIPPING.
I've followed up with several emails to their "support" department and have yet to receive anything other than a generic auto-response. So..here it is Christmas Eve and there are no shirts and no explanations from Threadless.
The fulfillment process of in-stock t-shirts is very simple. Take money + put shirts in box + apply label + ship. They got "Step 1" right (took my money), but have failed horribly at the other simple steps in the process.
I will dispute the charge on my credit card and forget about these guys forever.
Buyer beware: This company is good at sucking, and that's about it.

This is the last time I order from Threadless
I have ordered shirts from Threadless in the past and always been satisfied. I spent almost $100 on t-shirts for Christmas gifts this year. I ordered them the first week of December making sure they would have enough time to process and ship in time to be given as gifts. The payment was taken out of my account the next day. Been e-mailing and trying to contact them because only 2 of the 6 shirts I paid for arrived. They went so far as to send an email with a tracking number that said 2nd day shipping on it on the 20th. Waited until today (23rd) and it didn't arrive so I went to the UPS store and had them look it up. I found out that Threadless printed a label but never gave it to a mail carrier to be shipped. Second day air only works if you actually ship it. I had to go on their page on Facebook and post to get a response as there is only a generic response to e-mail and they don't have a listed number. Got a reply on Facebook that said "Oops, we forgot to pack part of your order." They then sent me yet another "new" order number that only has 3 of the 4 missing shirts on it and it's due to arrive the day after Christmas, which ruins the giving them as gifts thing. They have some really cool shirt designs but I will never order from Threadless again. I HIGHLY recommend steering clear of this company.

Threadless: 2014 Holiday Scrooge
Well, that just sucks. Ordered in November. Shipped slowest possible speed the day before Christmas eve. You could have made the extra effort and sent it one day air and maybe kept me as a customer, making every possible effort to get it here on time. But, you didn't. You didn't even ask me if I would pay more to get it here on time. You just stuck to the plan created in NOVEMBER when shipping speed should have been irrelevant. In this day of electronic communication, that is unpardonable and unprofessional. You don't deserve to be in business, and if your business fails, it will be your own damn fault

Took a turn for the absolute worst
Back when Threadless belonged to the original owners, they had great product and great customer service. But I've learned the hard way that once the company was sold, the business model must have dropped the idea of providing real-time inventory tracking and honest customer service. It appears the current owners of Threadless are riding on the reputation established before the buyout. Let me say, I understand how maybe they were caught off-guard by the volume of orders they received this season. But as a responsible business, there were countless opportunities for Threadless to own up to their situation and minimize the problems they passed on to their customer base. Instead, they seem to have chosen to work frantically behind the scenes — continuing to stack up orders they knew they couldn't fill in time, sending out non-answers to customers while taking money for merchandise they knew was not available, and in the end knowingly choosing to ship orders out too late for holiday delivery rather than taking on the cost to get them delivered on time, or letting the customers choose to pay for a shipping upgrade. And at no time during this whole debacle, did Threadless put a notice on their own site letting potential buyers know that many of the orders placed over the entire month of December would not be shipped in time for holiday delivery. The whole thing feels dishonest.
On the 28th of November, I ordered Christmas gifts for 4 relatives and birthday gifts for another family member on Threadless.com. In all cases, these items from Threadless were to be the ONLY gifts able be unwrapped by the recipients. I ordered all shirts that appeared to be in stock, giving myself PLENTY of time to receive, wrap, and mail out the packages in time for Christmas delivery. Not one word of an update or indication of an issue came from Threadless until I opened up tickets on my orders over 2 weeks after my purchases were placed. From day 1, I was denied the option of canceling the order, because immediately after I hit the purchase button the orders were listed as "Processing in our warehouse" or some other misleading misnomer indicating that the orders were actively being filled and refunds or cancellations were not possible.
The response I got back form my first open tickets involved a generic reply saying they expected to ship my orders in a couple of days. For my troubles, they offered me a coupon for "$15 off my next order. To use my $10 coupon, click this link." I was afraid if they mentioned the coupon a third time it would drop to $5! They also mentioned that they were very sorry, but they were not able to upgrade my shipping at this time — like it was my fault that such a large amount of time had passed, and somehow I had screwed up the ability to get these orders sent out faster!
Well, the couple of days they alluded to turned into well over another week and still there was no indication that my orders were shipping. The website still had my orders listed as "Processing" with no way to get out of the stressful situation I was finding myself in. Meanwhile I was empty-handed for a birthday, giving a sad little card with a lousy computer printout of the design that was still "processing". At that point I felt that I'd better begin managing the embarrassment and disappointment that was looming for Christmas, so I send out warning emails to the parents of 3 recipients saying my gifts were likely going to ship out too late to arrive in time for the kids to open on Christmas. Can you say, "Feel like a complete jerk?" I was still hoping that the odds would end up in my favor and at least the 2 shirts I ordered for my own kid might arrive in time, so he would have something other than a computer printout to open on Christmas Eve.
At this point, I reopened the tickets on my orders and begged for an honest answer with some kind of idea when these orders would be filled. Here is the reply I got, "Thanks for writing back, and we understand your frustration. Our goal is to be caught up and have your order shipped out within the next few days, so your items may arrive in time for Christmas. We’re doing everything we can to get back on track with the backlog of orders, and have worked with our printing partners to install additional printers, increasing the output as much as we can. You’ll receive a shipping notification as soon as your order is shipped. We apologize we're not able to be more specific. Sorry again for the delay and inconvenience this has caused you, and hope your items will ship very shortly."
Notice the use of the words "MAY arrive in time for Christmas"? They didn't mean "may" as in a polite version of "can", they meant "may" as in "maybe it will, maybe it won't". And guess what, they won't. None of them.
On December 19, I got a generic notification from Threadless letting me know the first of my orders was moved from "processing" status to "shipping" status with a tracking link. For the entire first day the tracking status only said "electronic notification", so I still had no idea of the timing, but thought since I live in Chicago and the Threadless warehouse is in Chicago that at least part of my orders could arrive in time to give out to my local recipients. 24 hours later I saw the status change from "Electronic Notification" to "Processing" in Orlando, FL with an estimated delivery date of December 27. So with a window of 5 business days to deliver a customer's holiday order that had been placed 21 days earlier, Threadless made the decision to knowingly ship the order to arrive 2 days AFTER Christmas — leaving me completely screwed, instead of either shipping it quicker at their cost or offering to upgrade my shipping at my cost in order to arrive in time. Not one word until it was absolutely too late.
However, apparently the time their customer service reps could have put into rectifying the situation for countless customers was spent creating a smarmy, cutesy letter I'm supposed to give to the kids instead of their present on Christmas Day. Here is the letter I got from Threadless explaining how, gee whiz, Thread friend, maybe we put you in a tough spot, but you've been a great sport about it...
Hey, Threadfriend,
As many of you are well aware, we’ve had the majorly unfortunate incident of unexpected delays affecting many of our holiday packages. We’ve been working fast and furiously to correct this issue, however, it’s become apparent that several packages may not make it to their recipients in time for the holiday.
Friends, we can’t tell you how terrible this makes us feel. We know how important timely packages are around the holidays, and understand completely that you trusted us to send your orders promptly and efficiently. At the very least, we owe you an honest explanation of what happened. Because you are all AWESOME, we ended up selling more product than we ever imagined this season, and unfortunately, this led to our printing partner having a tough time keeping up with the demand. It was certainly an unforeseen and regrettable consequence, one from which we’ve learned plenty, and are already making improvements to avoid a repeat situation in the future.
The good news, however, is that your package should be on its way very shortly (if it isn’t already!). If it’s a gift and you’re not sure how to explain a potential delay to its recipient, feel free to download our pre-prepared Threadless card to help with the gift-giving process. We know it’s not the actual present, but hopefully it will still encourage a smile. Click here to download the card!
Again, we truly apologize for the inconvenience. As always, please reply to this email if you have any questions whatsoever. We can’t thank you enough for your patience.
Best,
Your pals at Threadless
And here is the awesome letter that the kids on my list will receive for their Christmas present instead of the items I ordered for them a month prior...

From the chump who thought gifts from Threadless was still a good idea.

Once Great & Original, Now an Untrustworthy Company
Threadless used to be a symbol of originality when it came to t-shirts. There website is full of creativity and wit. I've bought from them in the past and been happy. This all changed after November 28th, 2014. Trusting in Threadless, I spent the majority of my hard-earned money for Christmas gifts on their Black Friday sale. They stated all shirts were in stock and it would take pretty much 2 weeks to receive all of my orders. The money is pulled out of my account the next day. 2 weeks later, 1 of 2 orders came in. When contacting Threadless customer service, I received a generic e-mail about hearing back from them within 48 hours max. About 3 days later, I get a generic e-mail saying the shirts I ordered are custom prints and they would ship within the week, but here is a nifty $10 off my next purchase. Their facebook page is also full of people with similar stories to mine. 2 weeks after this communication, I get another e-mail, which has been sent to anyone who ordered within the past month, stating that pretty much they can't fulfill orders before Christmas, but they have attached a card you can give to those you purchased shirts for so they'll understand. Also in this e-mail, they patted themselves on the back for being awesome for letting you know 6 days before Christmas that your gift will not be ready. What is funny is that since they have pulled the money out of my account the day after my order went through, it has been "processing," which means I cannot obtain a refund. So moral of the story: DON'T USE THREADLESS. There are plenty of other t-shirt companies out in the internet. Threadless has been giving the run-around and been dishonest to a lot of customers at the worst possible time to do so.

Poor customer service, unreliable shipping
Ordered some tees for xmas presents that were supposed to be in stock at the end of Nov and have been told they wont arrive in time for xmas as they are a custom print order. WTF? Funny, I ordered some tees from redbubble early December and received those last week. This is the second time where I have bought something from threadless and they have let me down.
