Personal trainer calls and nutritionist 5/5 overall 4/5
I joined the Vegan Gym program from August to December and was very happy with the results. The training program was great, and I made noticeable progress in my fitness. I’m giving the program 4 out of 5 stars because, while it was effective, I feel the price didn’t fully reflect the services offered. The highlights: My personal trainer, Nathan, was amazing. He was a perfect match for me—super knowledgeable, supportive, and fun to work with. He introduced me to new training techniques that really pushed me and helped me reach my goals. I learned a lot from him, and he made the workouts enjoyable. I also had a consultation with a nutritionist, and she was fantastic. She explained everything clearly and provided great advice tailored to my needs. The results I achieved in these four months were worth celebrating, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. The challenges: That said, there were a few areas where the program could improve, especially for someone like me who has IBS and is new to veganism. 1. Meal plan personalization: I chose this program because I struggle with IBS and wanted guidance on transitioning to vegan eating in a way that worked for my sensitivities. While the meal plan provided a solid foundation, it wasn’t as personalized as I expected. The recipes weren’t IBS-friendly, so my partner (who supported me through the program) had to make a lot of adjustments to ensure I could actually eat the meals. The program also required us to create our own weekly meal plan and grocery list. This took about an hour each week, which wasn’t what we expected from a “personalized” program. Since I’m not experienced in cooking and dislike meal planning, my partner had to take on all the cooking and planning. This made the process feel more complicated and time-consuming than we had hoped. 2. Knowledge videos: The program includes educational videos, but we didn’t find them particularly useful. My partner watched two of them but felt they didn’t add much value. Because of time constraints, we didn’t engage much with this part of the program. 3. Community feature: There’s a community aspect included in the program, but I didn’t use it. I’m a more reserved person and didn’t feel comfortable engaging in the community. This feature may be great for others but wasn’t something I needed or used. Final thoughts: The Vegan Gym program has a lot to offer, especially if you’re looking for effective training and support from knowledgeable professionals. I’m really grateful for Nathan’s guidance and the nutritionist’s advice—they were the best parts of the experience. However, for the price, I expected a more seamless and fully personalized approach, particularly with the meal planning. If you’re experienced in the kitchen and don’t mind spending extra time on planning and adapting recipes, this program could work really well for you. But if you’re someone like me, who prefers a simpler and more independent system, you might find it a bit overwhelming. I’m happy with the progress I made and grateful for the support from both the Vegan Gym team and my partner, but I’d suggest refining the meal planning process to make it more user-friendly and personalized for different needs.
