I was thrilled with my first plant purchases over several months in fall of 2022. However, my latest purchases over the summer of 2023 have been unsatisfactory. Issues include a poorly pruned pepperomia that I could not display until it filled out, receiving an olive tree stick with a few leaves along its length stuck in a pot, and receiving a broken pot. I sent a photo of the pepperomia and was told it would grow out of its poor appearance. When I sent a picture questioning whether the olive “tree” was truly what they meant to send, the response was that the leaves were green. When I reported receiving a broken pot under feedback, I never received a response. My last purchase in September 2023, I decided to order plants simultaneously from another online source and they arrived the same day. The difference between the Sill and Pafe plants startled me in regard to plant height and fullness. I won’t be ordering from The Sill, again.

The Sill has great plants, but unfortunately has suffered during these days of supply chain and shipping issues. This is more of a heads up to leave plenty of time if you are ordering for a birthday or gift. I am holding out that they will respond to my request for replacement of a cold damaged plant (not their fault, UPS and weather).

Hi Ronnie - Thanks for taking the time to share this. Well said - we agree we have great plans and yes, we have been impacted by COVID supply chain woes! Jennipher on our team will be responding to you today so we can replace your cold damaged plant, and we appreciate you understanding this and that the winter doldrums impacts a small percent of our orders! Always here for your plant needs.

I have some good and bad things to say about The Sill. I ordered a $65 ZZ plant with a pink limited edition pot. The plant came in awful condition (could’ve been the carriers fault) but that means the company needs to do a better job at making sure the plant is packaged correctly. Two branches were snapped and some leaves were already turning brown. I contacted the company and it took two days for them to get back and ask if I wanted a replacement or credit (was not offered a refund.) I had to reach out again through chat because I wasn’t receiving an answer after I agreed to the credit. I took the credit and also asked if they could ship the correct color planter. They told me the one I received was pink but might look different under lighting and I said it is definitely the grey planter. After I sent a picture they agreed to send me the correct pink pot. I’m happy they issued me a credit which I used to purchase another plant but I’m scared it’s going to also come in bad condition. I went to Lowes and they had amazing ZZ plants for $14.98. Learned my lesson and that is the last time I’ll be ordering a plant online and shopping from The Sill.

Hi Alyssa - Thanks for taking the time to share this experience with us. We're so sorry to hear your plant was damaged in transit - which sometimes happens! - and that we issued you a credit and got the right color planter out the door to you. We're a bit slower responding to customer messages this time of year, given the volume, but will make things right for any customer who had an issue. It seems like you're pleased with how your last live chat conversation with us was resolved (just looked up your history with us), so we do hope you'll give us another change.
