A broken mess on arrival. Sent as a thank you gift to a client. Customer sent me pictures of the disaster in his living room (dirt and broken pottery all over his floor). He told me he sat on hold with The Sill's customer care and they never picked up.
I was so embarrassed to give this gift. A very poor experience. I will never use them again.

Horrible customer service
Ordered a Christmas gift on 11/29 and still haven't received it (12/18). I have contact customer service multiple times, via email, online chat, and phone. Still unable to reach anyone.

Plant arrived dead, customer service tried to do the whole store credit or replacement bullshit after I had already clearly requested a refund. Then tells me I won’t be fully refunded because of the pot it came in. LOL. what a joke.

I’ve had a TERRIBLE experience with the sill so far. The plant I received looks nothing like the photo, it’s damaged and unhealthy. The customer support team has been so difficult to reach and when they finally responded they just offered me tips for caring for my plant and a discount on a future order. They say they will send you a new plant if there is an issue in the first 30 days, but that was never offered to me. I’m so upset that I ordered from them. A complete waste of $100.

FRAUDULENT
FRAUDULENT! They steal your money!
Tried to buy a plant for a bereavement gift, they charged my credit card, and never followed up with a tracking number OR delivered a plant to my gf. I can't believe people do this. I'm out $85 and no gift for my grieving gf.

Worst Customer Service
found The Sill by searching for bereavement gifts other than flowers. I thought a plant would be good idea. I ordered the plant and then when it asked if billing address was the same as the shipping address, I said no. I then filled out the billing information. After I entered complete, it showed that they were going to ship it to the billing address. I quickly emailed and explained that they were supposed to ship it to a different address, and gave the address again. Emphasizing that this was a bereavement gift and I wanted to make sure it got there. I also gave my phone number and said call me if there is a problem. They emailed back the same day saying they were going to fix it. This was a Saturday. The following Thursday they emailed me and said that they didn't have the pot I wanted. REALLY??? 4 days to say we don't have that pot. So I picked another from what they offered. Guess what? Two days later they ask, what color. What the heck. How about the color I already picked, and why take another two days when you have my number and can call me. So now it's been a week and they still processed the order. Then they actually have the nerve to send another email, asking me to rate Rachel's service she has given. I gave it 1 star, just l Iike I am doing here. It's been almost 2 weeks and Guess what, yup they haven't shipped it yet. I just got a shipping number and they say the receiver has not gotten the package to ship yet. This outfit is a sorry excuse for an online business and should stick to local business only. Buyers beware. I wish I had done a little more research before spending 85 bucks with them.

Overpriced plants sold by people who only care about the bottom line.
First off, let me admit that I’m an idiot for spending $100 on a plant that I could have found locally for half the price. I clearly should have done more research.
Secondly, always listen to your wife.
On 6/9, i decided to wing it and buy my wife a beautiful (at least I think so) bird of paradise house plant from the sill for our upcoming anniversary. Even though she had never even mentioned one before, and had suggested nothing of the sort for gift ideas, I foolishly thought this was a great idea.
The first red flag should have been when even though my credit card was immediately charged that Sunday, I didn’t receive even a hint of an order or shipping confirmation until the following Wednesday when I had to call customer service to find out what was going on. Weird, but we move on…
Saturday the 15th comes and so does the plant. It comes while my wife is out so I unwrap it and set it up with the gift note (which was printed on top of the order confirmation, how tacky is that?? You have the nerve to sell a $100 plant and you can’t put the gift note on a separate piece of paper??) My wife comes home… and absolutely hates it. Which she has every right to. I took a swing and I missed, oh well. It was the weekend though so I couldn’t call or live chat so I sent an email explaining my situation and how I would do my best to care for the plant until we could figure something out.
Monday the 17th comes, and I get a response late in the afternoon from “Giselle” informing me that they only do 30 day “happiness guarantees” (no where on their site does it explicitly say that they don’t do refunds) but “if it works for you, we are more than happy to issue a store credit equivalent to the cost of the plant you could use to purchase another plant. Let us know if this works so we can issue it right away!”
Exact words, verbatim. I respond 19 minutes later that yes, that sounds great and thank you so much.
I thought I was getting lucky and their customer service was out of this world. What did they want me to do with the plant though? They didn’t mention anything about returning the plant.. Was this going to be like amazon and were they just going to suggest to donate it or give it to a friend? Were they going to send a return label in a separate email?
It is now the 20th and I still haven’t heard back. I have replied to the same email chain numerous times asking the same questions to no avail. Did Giselle quit? Was she fired for offering a store credit?
My wife, still wondering why there is a large house plant that she never wanted taking up space in her house, also reached out. She was told by “DJ” that the plant can’t be shipped but they’ll honor a return or exchange in person at any of their locations. We live in CT. I’m not driving to New York to return a plant that I was told I would receive a store credit for.
The sill, you suck. I hope any prospective customers have the same amount of patience I had with your email games, reading this ridiculously long winded review and decide to just buy local. Good riddance.
