Refuse to repair water dispenser on new fridge
We bought our Thermador refrigerator last June in December, Six months later the water dispenser stopped working. The tech subsequently replaced two valves which took him several months to obtain and we are still waiting on the third valve. Thermador claims they do not see the valve on the diagram and after six plus months is still doing absolutely nothing to solve the problem. Have had Wolf Sub-Zero in the past and seriously regret switching to Thermador. Customer service is the worst. We bought the whole kitchen from them, double ovens, microwave drawer, etc. you’d think they might want to keep a customer happy. Do not purchase their refrigerators. Btw, the ice maker, inside of a year, has already needed a repair as well. At least they accomplished that.

T42IT100NP refrigerator
Purchased the 42 inch built in French door refrigerator. One problem after another. Their software on the appliance is just poor leading to numerous power cycles. Two circuit boards have failed. The ice maker does not shut off when full and fills behind the draw. This stops the draw closing. Post sales support is also poor, three months to get someone to fix a faulty circuit board.

Bad customer service in Houston
Bad customer service in us.
They charged me for a visit even though nothing was repaired and my oven had no actual problem. A lot of the appointment time was wasted due to the technician struggling with company systems and technical issues, yet I was still billed for it. The dishwasher issue was barely addressed, but extra charges kept appearing. I was told there would not be additional fees, then received another bill afterward. Overall, the experience felt more focused on billing than customer service.

Thermador refrigerator
We purchased a premium Thermador appliance refrigerator expecting reliability and support consistent with the brand’s reputation. Within just two years, the internal lights failed completely—hardly acceptable for a high-end product at this price point.
The bigger issue, however, is what followed. Despite purchasing an extended warranty specifically to avoid out-of-pocket repairs, we spent over two weeks being bounced back and forth between Thermador and the warranty provider. Each pointed to the other, and ultimately we were told the repair falls into a “gap” between the manufacturer warranty and the extended warranty.
This is not a gray area—it is a failure of Thermador’s warranty ecosystem. Customers are sold “peace of mind,” but when something actually breaks, the structure is designed in a way that allows both parties to deny responsibility.
For a premium brand, this is unacceptable. A lighting system failing this early is already concerning, but the complete lack of ownership and accountability is far worse.
At this price level, customers should not have to navigate loopholes between Thermador and third-party warranty providers just to get a basic repair covered.
Bottom line: You can pay for the appliance and pay extra for the extended warranty—and still end up paying out of pocket because of how Thermador structures its coverage relationships.
I would strongly caution prospective buyers: do not assume that “extended warranty” with Thermador actually protects you. Based on this experience, it clearly does not.
Thermador, as part of BSH Home Appliances, needs to take accountability for how its warranty partnerships function in practice—not just how they are marketed.

Do not buy from Thermador or Bosch
I am extremely disappointed with both the products and customer support from Thermador (and by extension Bosch).
My dishwasher has been out of service since February 20th, and as of today, it is still not repaired. The issue? A part that they continuously delay, with no clear resolution or urgency. Every time I follow up, the expected repair date gets pushed back again. There is no accountability, no proactive communication, and no sense that they value their customers’ time or investment.
This isn’t an isolated issue. Last year, my refrigerator column failed during peak summer heat, with average temperatures around 95 degrees. It took THREE MONTHS for them to resolve that problem. Three months without a properly functioning refrigerator in the middle of summer is completely unacceptable.
These are supposed to be premium appliances with premium service to match. Instead, what you get is unreliability, long downtimes, and a service network that cannot deliver timely repairs.
At this price point, customers should expect dependability and responsive support. Thermador and Bosch have failed on both fronts.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering these brands think twice. The products may look high-end, but the experience of owning them has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

The worst: product has major design flaws, and customer service is even worst
The worst. Thermador is supposedly a luxury brand, but the quality of the physical units is so bad, and the customer service is even worse. I bought a Thermador downdraft for 3k in 2024, and the letter branding on the top of the unit came off a few months later with gentle cleaning. That was a red flag as to the engineering quality and the engineering design. Why would you glue some aluminum pieces onto a unit when this is around grease and needs to be cleaned frequently? I told them, and there's some resistance in back-and-forth emails including putting up hurdles. Then they sent me a part three months later for replacement. Scheduling took another couple of months of back and forth. The Thermador repair guy came and somehow stripped the screw off my unit, making the top cap uneven and worse than it initially was. Initially, he said that I need to pay him even though Thermador said that it was free. Some back and forth he said he will have a screw sent to him and come back and will call me to schedule when it's ready. Never received the call. Nothing. I contacted them months later, and after numerous back and forth, they said that they would just replace the unit for me. Okay, that's fair. Gave them my information (numerous times, I might add) and then they said that they will send a unit to the repair provider who will reach out to me. Multiple months later, still nothing. Am still working on getting my cap fixed. Almost a year now.

I bought all the appliances for our new…
I bought all the appliances for our new kitchen in 2022. Since then, every single one of the appliances has had major manufacturing defect problems. The warranties expired after 3 years, which was when everything started really falling apart. Complete junk. I’ll be referring this matter my class action colleagues.
