Skeptic changed to full believer
I was skeptical about this product at first, but decided to try it to avoid putting my two very senior dogs under anesthesia for dental cleanings. Max is a 15 year old pitty mix (have had his entire life) and Milo is a 18 year old dachshund mix (rescued at 14). Both of their mouths smelled absolutely terrible. Max used to be an avid chewer of all sticks and toys, but no longer does so. Milo didn't even want to lick peanut butter off of a spoon anymore, I think because it caused pain if the spoon bumped his teeth. The vet stated they both had pretty severe tartar, but not to the point of rot, which was why we discussed a dental cleaning. It has been 3 months and we are in the middle of month 4 using this product. Max's teeth only have tiny specs of tartar left. I imagine this product would work even better if Max didn't scarf his food down and there was more contact between the product and his teeth. Milo is back to licking peanut butter or cream cheese off of spoons and even likes his kong again when offered. He will not let me peer inside of his mouth though, so I cannot vouch for the decrease in tartar. I can now say their breath does not stink AT ALL and will definitely continue to use this product. I wish it was a little cheaper, but I value the product and pure ingredients and will gladly continue to pay the price to avoid expensive/potentially dangerous cleanings. I do not like it when companies make budget cuts and use cheaper/riskier ingredients, and The PetLab Co. is not one of those companies. Thank you!
