⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing Poor Quality and Even Worse Customer Service
I purchased a product from The Mod Project on 21 September 2025, and from the very start, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing.
I received confirmation the same day and an email on 25 September saying the item had shipped. It arrived on 30 September 2025, but unfortunately, the item was damaged straight out of the box. I contacted customer service immediately and was told that a replacement watch case would be arranged due to the poor quality of the first one.
Since then, it’s been nothing but broken promises and endless back-and-forth emails. I was told several times that my case had been “escalated to senior management,” but clearly, senior management either doesn’t care or doesn’t exist. I’ve had at least five separate emails claiming that my issue was being prioritised yet nothing was ever actually done.
The product was refunded on 9 October 2025, but I never received the replacement I was promised, nor any response to my request for compensation. Instead, I just kept receiving long, polite emails full of apologies but with no real action.
On 21 October 2025, I followed up again after being told I’d receive a final update within 24–48 hours it’s now been six days, and still no response. That says everything about how they treat customers once they have your money.
In my opinion, The Mod Project over-promises and under-delivers. The communication is slow, the service is poor, and the company does not take accountability for its mistakes. They seem more focused on appearing helpful than actually solving problems.
I feel ignored, disappointed, and frustrated. Based on this experience, I would not recommend buying from The Mod Project. If anything goes wrong with your order, don’t expect it to be resolved quickly or at all.
Think twice before you buy.
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 26, 2025
Hello imran,
we’re genuinely sorry to read about your experience, we fully understand why this felt frustrating, and it’s clear that our communication didn’t meet the standard we want for our customers.
To clarify for anyone reading:
your order was refunded in full on 9 October, and the delay in providing an additional update was our mistake. Your request for a replacement case should have been handled faster, and we’ll be reviewing your ticket internally to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
We appreciate you taking the time to share the full timeline. Your feedback helps us improve the way we follow up on escalated cases and close them more efficiently.
If there’s anything else you’d like us to review, you can always contact us at [email protected] and our team will be happy to assist you directly.

Purchased the watch faces but they are…
Purchased the watch faces but they are using a 3rd party app to install and they do not stay on the screen the whole time you have to double click the side button and go back onto the app for your watch face to appear
Very misleading
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 26, 2025
Hello Ali,
thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry the experience hasn’t matched your expectations so far.
Our watch faces do use a dedicated companion app, but with the correct settings and by following the step-by-step video tutorial we send privately after purchase, the result is different from what you describe:
the face stays open for hours and simply refreshes every time you tap or raise your wrist.
It sounds like some settings may not be configured correctly on your Apple Watch yet. Our team would be happy to walk you through the setup so you can get the intended experience, or find another solution if you prefer.
Please reach out to us at [email protected] and we’ll assist you personally.

Poor quality watch straps…
Chinese quality watch straps marked up with Parisian prices. Most likely a drop shipping scam. The quality is so deficient, I will not wear it. Between the cheap spring pins, the thin rubber strap and the light-gauge clasp, I don't want to risk losing my watch. They also sell "premium" watch faces for $19 that you can get for free on the Clockology widget extension. I risked it to see what came and it was vey disappointing when I received the item today.
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 26, 2025
Hello Michael,
we’re sorry to hear the product didn’t meet your expectations, that’s not the experience we want for anyone.
To clarify for those reading: The Mod Projects is a Paris-based brand, and our products are designed here and produced with selected and private manufacturers in China to match the level of customization our cases and straps require. The strap you received uses reinforced spring bars, a stainless-steel clasp, and a rubber compound chosen for flexibility and comfort, not thinness.
Regarding the watch faces: the Hyper-Realistic designs sold separately are exclusive to our collection. They are not available online, cannot be found on Clockology, and do not appear on any public watch-face platforms. They’re created specifically to pair with our models and can only be installed through the private files and tutorial we send after purchase.
That said, we fully respect your opinion and want to help you end this experience positively. Our team has already a solution for you to be sent once you contact us anytime at [email protected].

Their return policy is a lie
Their return policy is a lie. I've tried to email their support so many times and I had to resort to a card dispute to get my money back.
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 26, 2025
Hello,
we’re sorry to hear you felt ignored, that’s not the experience we want anyone to have.
For clarity: our return policy is active and fully functional, and every return request is handled through our support team. We couldn't locate your order or find your name in our Database so it's hard for us to concretely assist you here.
Your bank dispute has now closed the order automatically, but if you need any further assistance or want us to review anything else, you can reach us anytime at [email protected].

Hello Lance,
we’re sorry to hear your experience wasn’t positive, that’s never what we want for our customers.
Just to clarify: every ticket is handled by both our support team and a member of management, so your case was reviewed by multiple people, not just a single agent. We take every issue seriously and always aim to find a solution as quickly as possible.

⭐☆☆☆☆ BUYER BEWARE OF DISHONEST PRACTICE!!!
⭐☆☆☆☆ 72 Hours of Silence & Weeks of Misleading Practices – A Complete Breakdown of My Experience with The Mod Projects
I purchased from The Mod Projects expecting a premium product and a professional customer experience. While the product itself is of decent quality, the customer service, refund process, and overall transparency have been appalling — and now I feel obligated to warn others.
Below is a complete breakdown of my experience with this company. Please read before spending your money here.
⸻
🔍 Timeline of Events
📦 July 17, 2025 – Shipping Label Created
A USPS shipping label was created in Los Angeles, CA. This gave the impression that the item was shipping domestically.
🕓 July 22, 2025 – Item Finally Picked Up
Five days later, the tracking updated showing the item was picked up — but still hadn’t been accepted by USPS.
🚛 July 23–25 – Movement Within Los Angeles
The package seemed to move between different facilities in Los Angeles. I assumed this confirmed a domestic shipment.
⸻
📨 Customer Service Emails
Email 1 – Misleading USPS Claim
After inquiring, I was told the package was “moving through the USPS system.” This was not true — tracking still showed “On Its Way to USPS”, meaning USPS had not received the package at all.
Email 2 – Partial Truths Revealed
Only after pointing out the tracking inconsistencies did customer service admit the product was coming from Hong Kong, with a stop at a warehouse in Jamaica, NY. This was never disclosed upfront or on the website.
Email 3 – “Goodwill” Offer
After escalating the issue, I was offered a $25 refund — supposedly to compensate for the shipping inconvenience. This was insulting, considering the issue was never about shipping but about deceptive communication and a misleading fulfillment process.
Email 4 – Policy Contradictions
After I declined the $25 offer and requested a full refund, I was told:
• They would not provide a prepaid return label
• I’d have to ship the product to Europe at my own expense
• Or I could accept a 51% refund without returning the product
None of this is mentioned in their own Refund Policy, which clearly states:
“Refunds are available within 45 days of purchase.”
It says nothing about partial refunds, international return shipping costs, or waiting two weeks for them to “figure out logistics.”
⸻
📵 August 4–7, 2025 – Silence
I sent a firm email requesting resolution, offering two reasonable options:
1. Send me a prepaid U.S. return label and issue a full refund once I return the product.
2. Issue a full refund and allow me to keep the product due to the significant service breakdowns.
It has now been over 72 hours, and I have received no response. This is especially troubling since prior messages were answered within 24 hours — until I rejected their offers and demanded they follow their own policy.
⸻
✅ The Product Itself
Ironically, the product is good:
• The case feels sturdy and well-built
• The extra bands are excellent quality
• The packaging was clean and presentable
But a good product can’t outweigh a company that appears to prioritize appearances over honesty, misleads customers about fulfillment, and changes its refund process on the fly when challenged.
⸻
⚖️ Why This Matters
This isn’t just a bad experience — it’s a reflection of a company that:
• Fails to uphold its own written refund policy
• Makes inaccurate claims in writing (which could constitute deceptive business practices)
• Only becomes transparent when confronted with facts
• And now appears to be deliberately stalling communication
I gave this company multiple chances to make this right, and I was fully prepared to write a positive review. Instead, I’m left feeling taken advantage of — and I’m far from the only one. I’ve since come across other complaints about this exact same behavior: confusing shipping, misleading tracking, and resistance to refunds.
⸻
💬 Final Thoughts
Do not buy from The Mod Projects if you value transparency, accountability, or honest customer service.
You may receive a decent product, but if anything goes wrong — you’re likely on your own.
And if you dare to challenge their process? Be prepared to be ignored.
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 26, 2025
Hi "Slap",
thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review, we truly appreciate the fact that you highlighted the parts you liked about the product itself. We’re glad to hear the case, straps, and packaging met your expectations, even though the overall experience did not.
Regarding the issues you described: your order followed a hybrid logistics route managed by one of our fulfillment partners, and the tracking updates were not communicated as clearly as they should have been. We understand how this created confusion, and we take responsibility for not explaining the process sooner. We’ve already flagged this with our logistics provider so situations like yours are handled more transparently from the start.
As for the refund process, our intention was never to make things difficult or to contradict our policy. We’re genuinely sorry if the explanations you received felt inconsistent, that’s not the standard we aim for. When a customer reports a problem, multiple people handle the case, both from support and management, and in this situation our attempts to offer alternative solutions clearly caused more frustration instead of helping.
We’re reviewing your full email thread internally to understand what went wrong and to prevent similar experiences in the future. If you’d like us to re-evaluate your case or help you close this properly, our management team will handle it directly. You can reach us anytime at [email protected].
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, your feedback genuinely helps us improve.

we’re sorry the product wasn’t what you expected, but the claims in your review aren’t accurate.
