We chose this program because my spouse needed flexibility in a treatment program…
We chose this program because my husband is a busy professional and could not check into a facility for months at a time. We chose it together based on ease of sessions and the spousal support program. Fees were $5000 per month which is costly for most. From the beginning Coach Craig encouraged keeping secrets and not disclosing things to me/wife/the abused. Everything was very secretive. My husband and i have been together for 15 years when i found out that our entire existence was built on lies, gaslighting manipulation, infidelity and sex addiction. To be fair, i was deeply upset. We argued, i went into severe depression, lost a massive amount of weight and struggled on a daily basis. Coach Craig- whom I’d never met other than a quick hello for 30 seconds during a zoom call- continually told my husband that he was the one in an abusive relationship with me and that he was being abused . Never mind the fact that Craig doesn’t hold a license to diagnose anyone, let alone someone he’s never talked to and didn’t know anything about me. Never mind i have no history of abuse, addictions, anger, failed relationships or gaslighting. To make matters worse, i repeatedly asked for the spousal support which Coach Craig DENIED me because of my “mental issues”. Instead he focused on stroking the ego of the guy paying the bill. The true abuser/liar/cheater. It took months after the sessions were over before my husband came clean with me about all of the lies and affairs, no thanks to Craig who constantly told him to not disclose anything. Wow. Wow. Wow.. Response: Although I appreciate Coach Craig and his wife reaching out thru this review, I have read the emails from Craig where he denied me access to the spousal support based on MY 'mental issues" and repeatedly told my husband that he was in an abusive relationship because I was angry about the 15 year mountain of lies. I suppose if I would have just layed on my back and shut up, I would have been given the support group access that we paid for.
Response from The Mindful HabitOct 17, 2023
Oh my goodness. This is heartbreaking to read. Michelle and I both wanted to respond personally and tell you how sorry we are that you are in so much pain and sorry that this is your experience with us. We deeply apologize for any actions of ours that caused pain. I would like to share an important point based only on the information that you provided in your thoughtful and heartfelt expression of pain. Because of confidentiality, we hope the explanation helps explain our policies and when coaching might not be a fit. For many reasons, we sometimes recommend someone work with a counselor or therapist before that person would be a fit for a coaching program. You wrote, “I went into a deep depression, lost a severe amount of weight, and struggled on a daily basis.” This is so heartbreaking and painful - and could be very serious. It's best when suffering from these and similar medical issues to work with a medical provider. This ensures everyone is getting the best care. We’ve evolved these policies over 10 years trying to ensure that we direct people to the right resources. There are also other times when it is in a person‘s best interest to get a licensed therapist who is not affiliated with our program. This is especially true when there are allegations of abuse for example, whether true or not. Sometimes there are legal issues that prevent us from working with both husband and wife. Our intention behind these policies is to make sure the person is getting the proper care. Our goal with every client is to empower them to proactively address the challenges in their lives. We do our best based upon the information that is provided. While I can’t speak to the specifics of this situation, we have a long public history of telling men that honesty is the best policy and disclosure is critical. This approach often helps them effectively rebuild trust and trust is the foundation of a great relationship. We are so sorry that this is your experience with us and we hope and will strive to do the best job we can going forward. We hope and pray you find your path to healing. Siincerely and Humbly Craig & Michelle Perra
