I used this app on and off for three months. I feel as if I was swindled. The long lectures, coupled with simple quizzes, are not the rigor I need for the FTCE Social Science. I have switched to another app, which really does provide the rigor without the tedium of Learning Liaison's content areas. Plus, this other app will give me my money back if I don't pass the certification test, as long as I score 90% on one of the practice tests.

Watch that subscription fee
I used LL to study for the STR, and while the information presented helped me prepare, overall it was not a good experience. I did not enjoy the videos at all. I found Jason to be unprofessional and highly annoying. Sarah was slightly better but still not enjoyable. Additionally, the way subscriptions are set up, it is very easy to be confused about what you are getting/paying for. I had a free month from TT, and then thought I was adding one more month, but the only way to do that apparently is to sign up for a year, which I did unknowingly. So I’ve been paying them $50 a month for the last 4 months when I didn’t even need it anymore. Deceiving process, and my fault for not catching it, but they definitely make it confusing and easy to do. Also, their website and videos crash frequently, and they make you watch every single one in order to get credit for the course and unlock the next section. Just such a pain, so proceed with caution when going with this company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience with The Learning Liaisons. We genuinely appreciate your honesty, as it helps us improve our services.
First, I’m glad to hear that the information we provided helped you prepare for the STR exam. However, I’m sorry to hear that your overall experience didn’t meet your expectations. I’d like to address a few points you raised:
1. Unprofessionalism in Videos:
We strive to deliver content in a way that’s both engaging and effective. We understand that teaching styles and personalities may not resonate with everyone, and we appreciate your input. It’s something we’ll reflect on as we continuously refine our approach.
2. Subscription Setup:
Our subscription process is designed to be clear, and we provide detailed information at checkout about the terms and duration. However, I understand how it could be confusing if expectations weren’t clear. We’ll review our messaging and instructions to ensure they are as straightforward as possible.
3. Technical Issues:
I’m sorry to hear you experienced crashes with the website and videos. That’s not the seamless experience we aim to provide. If these issues were reported, our team would have worked to resolve them promptly. We’ll investigate further to ensure our platform runs smoothly for all users.
4. Course Structure:
The requirement to complete videos in order is designed to ensure mastery of each section, but we recognize this might not suit everyone’s learning style. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll take it into account as we explore ways to make the experience more flexible.
We’re here to support you, so if there’s anything we can do to resolve your concerns or make things right, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we wish you the best in your teaching journey.

Not worth the cash
I think their general test prep review is solid. Things like doing research on the exam blueprint, using practice tests as benchmarks instead of questions to memorize, exam prep books are overly broad in their material, etc. This isn't new information and freely available online, but I do appreciate they still gave it up front. I'm sure that helped a lot of customers.
I went through all their material for the general test, professional test, and English Lit / Language teacher test. Their practice questions and lecturers were often needlessly long (the owner is particularly long-winded) and were not particularly close to the actual FTCE tests I took. I passed my exams so this isn't sour grapes, but I don't feel like their service was particularly good prep for the exam. Likewise, their essay writing tips felt a bit constrained and formuliac, particularly for participants taking on the English / English Lit exams. Maybe I'm wrong and test takers using this strat have good passing rates, but essays felt very college lit-esque and in my experience writing in such a manner wouldn't earn you a passing grade. YMMV
I also noticed their material was fairly dated. Again, I know that updating material is expensive and I imagine they have at least somewhat tight profit margins, but that doesn't change the fact that I don't think their service is particularly useful to people in 2024.
