Theladders.com offers an outstanding blend of features that gives both the employer/recruiter & the job seeker the ability to get results. As a recruiter, I am able to search by combinations of several relevant fields to pinpoint the right resumes, And the latest capability offered .. being able to search by narrow salary parameters… is most helpful. The Help Desk answers your phone call & gives you answers to your questions in a timely & courteous manner. & ultimately, when calling candidates, I have found them to be pleased when I tell them that I found their resume on the ladders, & eager to work with me on their career goals.

In the past, my searches on TheLadders would take a lot of time because there were many candidates to review - a lot would not be appropriate. I now get a much faster and on-target search of individuals to review and they are much more pertinent than in the past. It used to take a lot more time in to sift through numerous resumes. Thank you for the changes.

I assume all LADDERS candidates are open to hearing about opportunities that may be a better fit than what they are currently doing. When I see full resumes, contact information and motivation for change, I can help the ones I call. If I have to "dig" to get their resume, information is 2-3 years old and they are less than forthcoming I wonder why they are on this site to began with. Fortunately, most are happy to hear about new situations.

TheLadders offers both a basic and premium membership. I've had both so I can talk with some level of experience using both types. Overall the site is a jobs compiler, with most posting available on other sites. The problem I have with TheLadder is that it promotes its premium membership as having exclusive listings. In part this is true, but many of the postings are again available for free, elsewhere. When doing a job search as a basic member, you are often rejected from viewing or applying for a posting because it bounces you to premium membership sign-up in order to continue. Some posts will allow you to apply but it would be much more helpful if the site showed you which were exclusively for premium members. Also, most premium jobs don't even give you an opportunity to view the qualifications detail, so why would you spend 100's of dollars on a hit-or-miss site. My recommendation, skip the premium membership and use LinkedIn.com, Indeed.com or even Ziprecruiter (if you're looking for a job compiler. The bottom-line is that 70%+ of all upper-level jobs are filled through networking or executive recruiters and are most often not posted to the web. For upper-level jobs, such as CEO, CFO or COO, LinkedIn affords you the ability to build a real network, make direct contact with recruiters, as well as connect with employees, including upper management and Boards, of target companies.

I think the Ladders is a great place to find candidates who are not on sites like Monster, Indeed or Careerbuilder. It's especially good for finding high-level candidates who normally don't post on job boards. Weaknesses of the Ladders include the Search function needs improving as it's not very exact and the site also needs to purge candidates that may have put their resume up 15 or 20 years ago and have not been active since. Overall though it's a great site for job candidates to use and it is an important tool for recruiters.

I have seen some very good resumes from The Ladders and have actually spoken to a few. All of the resumes that were on point were from candidates that have already taken position elsewhere and, accordingly, are no longer looking for a position. Unfortunately the rest of the candidates did not qualify for these positions due to lack of either the CPA certificate or lack of relevant experience. The Ladders has provided many great candidates in a quick manner. I am grateful for the response and will keep looking to fill these positions and future openings with The Ladders.

There are multiple databases out there for 'specialities', but TheLadders has a breadth and depth that make it one of the best sources I've used. I consider it one of the top three 'go-to' talent sites I utilize.
