Hi Marlon; We’d like the opportunity to address this with you but without more detail we’re not exactly sure what pictures you’re referring to. You had ordered Juvenile African Cichlids and we’re guessing you’re referring to the photos we have on our site for our African Cichlids. All of our photos are of adult fish to show the adult size, coloring and markings. Juveniles, like those that you ordered, will be a bit less colorful until they are fully matured. With a proper diet and tank conditions, the juveniles will mature and develop their distinctive coloring and markings. We mention this on our site. We’re just guessing on what you’re referring to in your review. If we didn’t hit the mark, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] to clarify. Thank you!

Hello Lynn, Thank you for your feedback. When we hear that 7 cichlids and 2 plecos perished in two days we really want to understand why (beyond the observation that the fish perished) so we can use what we learn to improve our business. We would have preferred if you contacted us as soon as you observed signs of ill-health so we could have assessed the situation and most probably turned it around. The limited scope of the information you provided doesn't allow us to do that. Do you have any further insight as to the root cause for all nine perishing? There are three environments that could have potentially caused this: (1) The iFISH Store (our tanks and/or packing procedures), (2) the shipping experience with FedEx and/or (3) on your end, your pond conditions (water parameters, pondmates), feeding schedule and the acclimation process you used. At this point, we really don't have enough information to determine what went wrong where and wish we had more in order to address this. In the end, we are sorry the fish perished and wish your experience with us was a better one. We are always willing to assist customers when our fish do not do well in the environment they are transferred to and highly encourage all our customers to reach out to us at the first signs of ill health.

Hello Dan; Thank you for the review. The only thing we can honestly say here is that we do wish you had contacted us when you first received your Discus and they appeared very stressed. Yes, we do have a Live Arrival Guarantee with a set timeframe, however, when our fish appear stressed and do not acclimate well we would hope that our customers contact us immediately even if it is outside our set Live Arrival Guarantee timeframe. It gives us the opportunity to assess the conditions and work with our customer to correct the situation. Whether it is reviewing acclimation procedures and recommending follow-up procedures or, in worst case situations where fish have perished, determining if a refund or credit is more appropriate. In any case, we would encourage all of our customers to simply contact us at first signs of ill health in our fish as soon as possible rather than not contacting us at all. When we hear about fish perishing in a review with no prior communication with us it is unfortunate because we work very hard with our customers to ensure a positive outcome. We’re sorry this was your experience with us and hope you will be open to working with us again in the future. Thank you!

Hi Eric; We’re sorry to hear your four African Cichlids perished a week after receiving them. Had you seen any signs of ill health or aggression with other tankmates? We like when our customers check in with us at the first sign of ill health so soon after they have been transferred to their new environment. In some cases we can pinpoint the problem and turn the situation around. We hadn’t heard from you and could only assume that your new tank additions were doing well. Again, we’re sorry they perished and wish we had the chance to look into it further with you.

Hi Goe; We're sorry to hear that 12 of your fish perished over an 8-week period. We have been communicating with you via email to try and understand the root cause. Hopefully, together we can uncover the problem by taking a closer look at all factors. Please continue to work with us on this as we research tank conditions. Thank you!

Hello Kiante; We’re sorry you’re disappointed with the African Cichlids that you ordered. At the size that you ordered, It’s unusual for the color to fade unless they are stressed by their environment or diet. Can we consider looking into those factors with you?

Hi Bambi; We’re sorry you’re disappointed with your cichlid. You had ordered a juvenile Electric Blue Acara and juveniles will appear much duller until they reach adult size. We are quite sure that with proper tank parameters and feeding, you’ll begin to see the trademark colors as your cichlid reaches 4 - 5 inches. We ask that you just give it some time.

Hello Ronil; We're sorry to hear that 5 of your Discus perished. We really wish you had contacted us at the first observed sign of ill health with these fish. In many cases, we have assisted our customers in turning the situation around by recommending a treatment, change in tank parameters or feeding. In some cases, we have provided a refund or credit. We're sorry this was your experience with us and it's unfortunate that the fish perished. We would really encourage you to communicate with us, or whoever your fish supplier is at the time, when you first observe a problem with your fish.
