Hi Allan; Thank you for the feedback. We're not sure about the "brown discus" your describing and we agree with you...we don't offer a Brown Discus. Sometimes as a result of the stress from shipping, their colors may appear muted until they have been acclimated in their new environment. Also, you had ordered juveniles which also have muted colors and markings until they mature. You seem to indicate that it was the Blue Diamond. They've now been in your tank for 4 weeks. If you still believe that you received all the other varieties of Discus correctly and this one in particular still doesn't appear to be a Blue Diamond, you can send a photo of it to us at [email protected] and we can take a look at it. Hello Gilbert; We're very sorry that all 15 Cichlids perished within a few hours. Even though they were 24 hours delayed in shipment, we pack our fish so that they are able to withstand that type of delay as long as they are not exposed to extreme temperatures. We had asked for tank parameters because we have seen such a massive loss come from the fish not acclimating well to their new environment. That's why we asked you for your tank parameters. We really wish we had the opportunity to get that data and photos to help identify the cause so we could have turned the situation around for you. We're sorry this was your first experience with us and would certainly like the opportunity to work more closely with you on a future order to ensure that the fish acclimate well and remain healthy. We hope you'll consider giving us another try!

Hi Daniel; We’re sorry to hear that 3 of the fish perished. We hadn’t heard from you previously about this and we’d like to be able to respond in more detail but it’s difficult without further detail. In looking at your order we noticed the combination of fish and invertebrates that you purchased and hope that you didn’t put the 3 smaller invertebrates in with such large Cichlids. That could cause a problem but we’re just speculating with the minimal information we have from you. We really advise all of our customers to contact us at the first sign of ill health so that we can work with them to turn the situation around. We would have liked that opportunity with you. We will gladly label each bag upon request when customers provide us with that instruction within the note section of their order. We certainly would have been happy to do that for you if you requested it. So we’re very sorry it turned out this way for you and you had to sort through your order. We certainly hope all the fish have acclimated well and each are in their correct pond. Thank you for the feedback and the opportunity to stock your ponds. Hi Jessica; We're sorry to hear that one of your Cichlids was/has perished. We'd like to know the circumstances a bit better to address it. If the Cichlid was DOA, you would have been covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee. We instruct our customers on the Guide that we enclose with all orders that you take a photo of the perished fish and email it to us at [email protected] within 2 hours of delivery. It's difficult to tell from your review if the fish was DOA or it perished sometime after acclimation in your tank. Even if that were the case, we really encourage our customers to notify us at the first sign of ill health so we can hopefully turn the situation around. Did you contact us at all perhaps under a different name or email address? We have reviewed our archives and can't identify any notification from you about the perished Cichlid. We certainly appreciate your business and if your inclined to do so, we'd like to hear more details about perished fish via email at [email protected]. We're sorry you lost one and can try to assess the situation with a few more details.

Hi Steven; We’re sorry you were disappointed in the juvenile African Cichlids that you ordered. From our side, we can guarantee that we do not feed any of our stock hormones to enhance their coloring. At the same time, we purchase our inventory from a number of international wholesalers and whether they “juice” some of their juveniles is really unknown. We like to think not because we qualify them and enter them into our list of Qualified Suppliers. However, it’s agreed that it’s another potential source along the way where it may happen without us being made aware. Regardless, we’re still sorry you were disappointed and wanted to guarantee that we don’t enhance their coloring here.
