Hello Javez; Just as a heads up should you order African Cichlids again, you may specify how many males or females you would like in the Notes section on your Cart page when you are checking out. Also, on the coloring, you ordered juveniles and there distinctive colors are a bit muted, As they grow over the next several weeks, with proper diet and tank conditions, you should see their brilliant colors develop. Hello Rosaida; Discus can be quite shy but if your water parameters are optimum, they will eventually settle down in their new tank. You'll also find they will be more sociable once they realize you are the one with the food. There are a couple of factors that affect their shyness or need to hide. They do not favor bright lights and noisy environments. And they are more comfortable with a few places to hide in the tank rather than having a bare aquarium. They prefer being in groups with other Discus and also adding some schooling fish such as Tetras help them feel less threatened. These are just a few ideas to get your new Discus to be less shy. We hope this helps you coax your Discus out a bit more!

Hello James; Thank you for your Feedback. Two issues to address here. (1) If one of the Cichlids you ordered had one damaged eye, we would be happy to address it. We inspect each fish before they enter quarantine and are packed. However, if you saw what appeared to be a damaged eye when you received the fish, then we would request that you send a photo to [email protected]. For fish which perish during shipment or appear to have any other serious visual injuries when they are received, as stated on our website we request that you contact us immediately and send a photo to [email protected]. We will work with our customers and provide either a credit toward a future order or a refund. Would you be willing to submit a photo to [email protected] so we can move forward in addressing the issue? (2) The albinos you are referring to are the Strawberry Peacock Cichlids which carry pinkish colored eyes. If this is the correct descriptor you are referring to and would like to discuss it further and communicate what you were expecting, we'd also be happy to address that as well. In both cases outlined above, we would certainly like the opportunity to speak with you so that you are ultimately satisfied with ordering from us. Open communication, preferably right after an order is received, helps alert us to any dissatisfaction so we can respond. We hope you will take us op on the offer of submitting a photo of your fish so we can open discussions.

Hello Mary; We're sorry you weren't pleased with the Discus you received. Just a note about the strains you received and coloring. You had ordered the 2" Discus which are juveniles and their full brilliant colors and distinct markings have not yet fully formed. As juveniles, they will have a very muted appearance and are often challenging to differentiate between strains that have the same foundational color. In looking at the specific Discus you ordered, we did in fact send you 1 each of the six different strains you ordered. At the same time, being juveniles, we can understand why you say you received 2 of the same color in orange and 2 of the same color in blue when you wanted 6 different colored discus. In your batch of strains, you actually have two primary colors represented and with juveniles, their distinct differences are clearly not yet apparent. If you would like us to help you identify the 6 different Discus you ordered, we would be happy to do that. If you would be willing to send us photos of the 6 Discus to [email protected], we can communicate with you and assist in the proper identification. We hope you take us up on his offer and that you see the distinct difference between the 6 Discus as they mature in the proper tank conditions and are feed a healthy diet.
