The Events CalendarReviews of theeventscalendar.com

Avoid The Events Calendar at all costs. It caused SEO issues stating duplicate pages for every event created. Then after over a year of using it with the Mega Max Menu plugin it suddenly became incompatible and was breaking the site 2-3 times a day for months. We spent nearly a grand on a website developer to identify and fix the issue. The issue was solely the Events Calendar Pro plugin which we deactivated and created an entirely new Events page. I reached out for a refund which The Events Calendar team declined immediately. Read their reviews, they are terrible to work with.

AVOID. This plugin is the worst. The promised functionality is nonexistent. The various view modes do not work. I purchased the "Community Events" version for my client base and the calendar interface when scheduling events is misaligned (presents poorly). Tried logging into my account and suddenly my password does not work. Requested a link to reset it repeatedly; the email never arrived. They are timely when announcing "exciting" updates, but radio silent regarding customer care.

I'm in the development phase...using this plugin for class registration on a website. So far I'm happy with the functionality. And, I've gotten decent support when I've had a few questions. What I'm super unhappy with is all of the add-ons required to achieve the functionality we need. They show a demo event listing page on their website page...what they fail to mention is that it takes TWO paid plugins to set it up at a whopping cost of $180/year. One to be able to embed shortcodes on pages, the other for an event filter...RIDICULOUS. At this point, it's costing $300/year to use these plugins.

They kept charging my account even though I REPEATEDLY asked them to cancel my subscription. It doesn't seem like anyone is there. Their portal doesn't allow you to cancel your subscription. They just kept trying to charge my card over and over and over again. No support provided.

I could write a dozen paragraphs explaining issue after issue after issue that I had with this plugin, from basic functionality not working, to breaking other plugins, to horrific support, to trying to charge my card even after cancelling. I'm always hesitant to write negative reviews, because I assume that I'm an "edge case" in some way. But this is SO FAR BEYOND the worst experience I've ever had with any other software that I've ever used, I felt I had to try to warn at least ONE person and save them the pain (dozens of hours and thousands of dollars lost) that I've experienced because of this "tool".

This plugin went from being great to damaging our crawl budget with the new update and the way the software feeds events to every page. That being said, I tried several times to get the help we needed as we were pro users as in, we paid them to license their software, but all I got was we are so sorry and some horrible work arounds like using robots.txt directives which won't work when you feed an event to every page: Here is our support request: All of a sudden the events which we do not index, are being indexed by Google even with a no index tag on it. This only happened after we upgraded. Because of this, we are spending our crawl time on things that are irrelevant like our calendar items. This means the pages and posts that make us money are not being crawled because there are literally hundreds of posts that are not being crawled. We need a fix ASAP. See for yourself in the screenshots I have attached. In the end, we had to remove their plugin altogether and finally we started to receive leads again here was their response to us: I hope you are doing well. I am sorry that you had to remove our plugins and are seeking other alternatives. The issue your site was having was indeed quite a puzzler, and in case you decide to give us a chance in the future, we'd be happy to investigate further, resolve it and turn your opinion about our products. Have a great day :)

This plugin gets the job done but wow is it hard to use. The back end editing of this event calendar is super difficult and seems very outdated, tons of settings are missing where you need to message support to ask for custom CSS just to change certain font colors.

Tried this twice, almost 1 year apart. Both times had issues where it wouldn't work on two separate websites running different themes. Both times experienced VERY poor support from "support" people such as Truman Dorn and Marta Kozak, with an attitude of, "Well, you should probably research and figure out what the problem is." So wait, why are YOU here?
