I've been with BlogPress for several years now. As a novice Blogger who wanted to do this properly, I've found the BlogPress team great to work with and really helpful. The training and step by step process has been well thought out and is very instructive and useful. There would be 5 stars if I didn't get an annoying pop-up every time I log in, that makes me think they've forgotten who I am! The team are great - just the pop-up is annoying! I highly recommend doing the training, then starting your blog through BlogPress.

Hi Julie! Thank you so much for the kind words! I know what you mean about that login captcha pop-up! This is a service provided by Google that runs on many thousands of websites and it helps protect our members' account security, but it's annoying for us too! What is frustrating is it's way better than the old version, and better than other options, but it's still annoying. :) I do have some good news on that front... Google is getting ready to release a completely transparent version of the same tool, meaning it will do the same job verifying it's a real person and not a bot, but you won't see that pop-up anymore! Bear with us, we are going to roll out that update AS SOON as possible. Please let us know if there's anything you need. P.S. - How can we make you so happy that you give us the full 5 stars? :) --Dan BlogPress Customer Success

Your help is great; but setting up the blog is way more difficult than we initially anticipated. But that's because we were clueless on what it takes (the mechanics) doing a blog. Some of the other sites--while more expensive-- were drag and clicks. HOWEVER, I don't know if the other sites go into the detail of SEO all the things related to SEO that garners a blog more exposure hence more potential advertisers and income. Once we figure out the workings we will make up for lost time. You've been very helpful to us, and we are blog & computer challenged! We would pay extra for distance learning tutorials. We're just not that intuitive with it (yet).

Hi Barry. Thanks for the excellent feedback. I too wish that WordPress would get around to creating a drag and drop editor. I have a feeling it’s coming soon… Let us know if there’s anything we can help with. — Jennifer BlogPress Customer Success

I am having a wonderful experience with BlogPress. I can reach anyone easily and they provide excellent customer service. The website in itself is functional and easy to use. I appreciate the training modules as well as this can help any first time blogger feel at ease.

Its a good platform for beginners, but I do wish I could change more of the formatting without going through help desk
Response from BlogPressMar 16, 2017
Hi Cheryl. Thanks for the review. I'm not certain which formatting you are referring to, but in general, you have full control over the text formatting in the editor, and then each theme provides a certain amount of customizations - this is controlled by the theme itself. Let us know what you're trying to do and we'll be happy to help. : --Jennifer BlogPress Customer Success

I did a decent amount of research when I decided to start a blog, and there were some very good things said about BlogPress that swayed me to utilize them. I needed someone who could do all the technical stuff behind the scenes because I have zero knowledge of that, nor did I want to learn all of that. So I'm happy with that part. But there's a certain amount of confusing content or lack of content in their help sections. Some of the content criss crosses over one another, and you can't truly find the answer you want without pinging them for live help. And that's ok. I'm also pretty "old school", so I've seen a good deal of typos all throughout their website and in their typed conversation help too, and that just looks and seems unprofessional as if nobody is proficient in typing and/or they don't self edit themselves. Which seems odd given that websites and blogging is all about typing on the one hand. It makes you question that as a business, as a company they don't exhibit professionalism, so it makes you wonder if they are offhandedly rushing through their work day without taking enough care in their work, or if they don't truly know what they're doing. And to market themselves as such a great help to those who don't know the first thing about computers, well, they leave out a certain portion of explaining the differences between host, and provider, etc. I'm still not certain what BlogPress is when it comes to words. Are they my interface?? My blog host provider? And I bought my domain through BlogPress Domains and yet they aren't my domain provider or email provider or something. I don't know. Like I said, it's confusing. Apparently GoDaddy is my email provider? I really don't understand the semantics of it all. They could do a better job of starting at square 1 and really explaining all of this in layman's terms.

Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thorough review and letting us know where we can improve! (We are always making things better than before). It is actually possible to be a highly successful blogger without perfect grammar :). Yes, we are are guilty of pushing out help content as soon as possible and that may result in a typo here and there. I will make sure that our content team is aware of this and strive to do better in the future. :) We do also assume a certain level of computer and internet knowledge. For example, explaining the difference between a host and a provider (though I'm not sure what a "provider"is). Common web and internet terms are easily looked up with Google and we prefer to spend most of our time teaching the ins and outs of blogging. Perhaps we should set up a "glossary of blogging terms?" We do, however, have a help article or 2 on the differences between BlogPress and traditional web hosts like BlueHost or HostGator as well as how we are different than a 100% self-hosted WordPress solution. You can read those here. - http://docs.theblogpress.com/frequently-asked-questions/about-blogpress/blogpress-vs-web-hosting - http://docs.theblogpress.com/frequently-asked-questions/about-blogpress/blogpress-vs-wordpress If you purchased a custom domain name from BlogPress Domains along with a domain email address, then yes, GoDaddy is your email provider. We are a GoDaddy reseller, so on the back end, that is where your domain name is hosted. Please feel free to open a new conversation with our support team if you have any further questions and we'll be happy to assist. --Jennifer BlogPress Customer Success
