Lately I’ve been getting ‘false’ missed and or Cancelled calls on my phone. When I call back the numbers they have no clue I called them. I called my Carrier and they said Telephone kenya is causing those calls. They are dummy calls so you think you missed a call and use their service to call back. I wake up to over 20 missed international calls. Please look into this issue it’s annoying. Thank you.

Hi D. Dott,
Thank you for opening up the topic. We can assure you, as a service labeled by BBB for transparency and customer satisfaction, that we are not sharing our customers' details with any third parties, so that they could use that info on.
Also, we do not call our customers for marketing purposes, and do not send spam messages. The only time we call our customers is to get additional information regarding an issue reported or to check a transaction.
There is a solution for these "missed" or false calls. You can block the unwanted numbers that call you. Go to your phone's Settings.
Hope it helps!

I would have given them 5 stars if it were not for the spam I get everytime I have a transaction with them. This year, every time I add credit to my account I have been getting an email from a company called Jamia that my food order is ready for delivery. This makes me suspicious that my account is not secure.

Hi Washington,
Thanks for getting back to us! You must be referring to Thank You points... is that true? Actually you still have 982 points in your account with TelephoneKenya, which equals to $9,82 Voice Credit. But you can only press "Convert" in your account (My Information section) and turn the points into mobile credit until you've reached 1000. You are 8 points closer.
How the PROGRAM has always worked, and still does:
-These points are awarded for 2 kinds of purchases you make on the website: Mobile Recharge or/and Voice Credit. Here are more details: https://telephonekenya.com/thank_you_points
-Once you amount to 1000 you can convert them in Voice Credit for free calls.
If you need to get in touch with us, please contact our Support team anytime: https://telephonekenya.com/contact
Thank you for having been with us for so long!

Response from TelephoneKenya.comSep 25, 2017
Hi Grace,
First, some good news! You have collected 2,683 Thank You points in your account, which means you can log in and Convert them yourself into $26,83 Voice Credit balance for free calls. Enjoy it! Just go to "My Information" section and on the right, you've got your loyalty points displayed. Click or tap "Convert" and you can immediately use the credit to call any destination you please, not only Kenya. Voice Credit never expires, so there is validity date associated with this balance amount.
Another way to earn credit is by recommending a friend. Go to your account with TelephoneKenya.com, and check the section Refer a Friend. You can invite your expat fellows by email, sending them your referral code. When they use it to make their first order with TelephoneKenya.com, you automatically get $5 as Thank You points. Once you get to $10 worth Thank You points (1000 points), you can again Convert them into free calling credit.
Also, join the expat community on Facebook for regular contests. There are not many people who dare leave a comment, so there are high chances you win: https://www.facebook.com/telephonekenya/
There is one CONTEST starting on September 27 on International Homesickness Day, and the price is $10 Voice Credit.
Thirdly, there are regular promotions you can receive in your Inbox, if you are subscribed to Get Offers. Just press "Get Offers", the button on the homepage of the website TelephoneKenya.com.
As for the current rates on the website, they go up and down according to other factors on the market. It is not our initiative. We try to get the best rates for you, but when costs to our providers go high we need to line up to keep the quality up. The same way, rates can go down, when market decreases affect the service.
Thank you for your understanding, and for being our customer!
