A good experience recharging my family's and friends' phones in Africa from USA. The process is simple and easy. Two stars because the fee they charge is too high. I recharged for 20$ and paid $4.27 fee. That's 21%. Unacceptable.

Hi Olivier,
The processing fee reflect the costs on the market. All top up services (transfer services) apply it to cover for their costs. When costs go down, the fee also lowers automatically. Thank you for your understanding!

It’s not worth minutes calling Kenya from overseas. You load $5 , $10, or $20 the minutes are less.

Hello,
Thank you for opening up the topic, Richard!
The rates are established considering 2 conditions:
-costs on the global market
-quality of the routes
The ones you see on the website are the best ones on the market for the quality of the routes.
And good call quality is something we won't change in order to have a lower rate.
Plus we have no fees (what you pay is what you get) and the credit does not expire.
Have a look around, and you'll see that other providers who offer lower rates have whether hidden fees that you'll learn about in the process (like fee per call, monthly or weekly admin fee they call processing fee, 3 or 5 minute rounding, etc.
We assure you that the amount of minutes available when buying $20 is more and not less than the ones available for $5. You can check the rates by clicking: https://telephonekenya.com/international-calls/Keny, as well.
ALSO, did you know you can earn free credit?
-Take advantage of the giveaways on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/telephonekenya/
-Recommend TelephoneKenya.com to friends and win free credit. Simply sending pre-defined invites to from your account, and for every 2 friends that try the service for a minimum of $5, you get $10 Voice Credit as Thank You points (loyalty points). Go to My Information section in your online account and look for Thank You points.
Thank you for your understanding for being with us!

You get charged even when the person you are calling doesn't answer the phone!!
Response from TelephoneKenya.comMay 17, 2019
Hi JOSEPHINE,
We don't charge the unanswered calls, since that is not logical. Yet, there is a special situations to consider:
-When a call reaches the Voice Mail of the called party, the connection is established in order to send the voice message, thus these calls look as if connected and billed accordingly. By looking at your CDR-s, we noticed you are probably complaining about the calls to the Telkom number in Kenya. After placing a few test calls this was confirmed: you are reaching the called party's Voice Mail.
Consequently, we have credited your PIN for those failed attempts. Please star rate any problematic / suspicious call in the future, so we can get notified and investigate it. The feature is free and available for all your calls in the Activity tab (your online account), and gives you personal control over your call connection. You can find it by tapping this:
https://www.TelephoneKenya.com/account/activity.
If further assistance is needed, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1866-535-8095 Support Team.
Thank you for your understanding!

A great idea poorly implemented
A great idea poorly implemented. Going digital must account for all the functionalities - the idea of always redialling the whole number from start to make every call in 2019 is ridiculous and amounts to intellectual laziness and technological incompetence.
Response from TelephoneKenya.comMay 8, 2019
Hi Lang,
You've got a free feature to skip dialing the whole destination number: Speed Dial.
Please set it up in your account with TelephoneKenya.com.
Speed-Dial allows you to reach the destination number by just dialing 1 digit on your key-pad.
- Log in to your online account
- Click on Speed Dial
- Click on a digit and in the space provided, enter the phone number of the person you wish to link to that digit.
- You may also enter the name if you wish.
- Click SAVE
Ensure that the phone number you enter is in international format - i.e. that it includes the country code.
Now when prompted to dial the phone number, you simply press the digit assigned to the phone number you wish to call (do not press anything else) and our system will dial the number for you.
You can save up to 99 phone numbers for Speed Dial.
Hope it helps, tell us how it goes. If you need any help, we're here: https://telephonekenya.com/contact

Too expensive 🤦🏾♂️
Too expensive. Cost higher than using Safaricom line while abroad to call Kenya 🇰🇪. If you have a Kenyan line or a T-mobile line, just call directly. It’s cheaper!!!
