UPDATE: 12/4/23 4:56pm - Now that I've spoken with Quality Assurance today, we researched this issue, & I had time to think back, I believe I was the one who spoke to you by phone about sending you those samples you mentioned in your review, so that you could try other types before we sent a full replacement. I could be wrong, but I would really like to follow up with you & get to the bottom of this if you are open to that. Thank you - Bekkah with Taunton Bay Kratom -Original Reply: Hello Paul, This is Bekkah with Taunton Bay. I am so sorry for your bad experience! We always aim to provide the highest quality product available and friendly customer service, and we sincerely apologize for not meeting the mark with your recent order. First, I would like to address some of your concerns here, and see if we can make this right. I would like to start by making it clear that we do not, nor have we ever in our 9+ years of faithful service to this community, "cut" our products in any way, shape, or form. We would never jeopardize the legality of kratom, our small family business, and most importantly, our customer's safety. That's a very serious allegation you made and I don't believe any vendor with even a modicum of respect for our plant would ever maliciously adulterate their product. But it's also important to know that plain leaf kratom is not standardized. Since kratom is a natural product, characteristics such as powder color, consistency, taste, and more can all vary greatly batch-to-batch. Anything from weather variations during the plant's growth, to the actual drying process of the harvested leaves, can all facilitate these differences. We also see it more often and more pronounced when there is a season change. The color of our kratom products are likely to be a darker color from mid-fall to mid-late spring, when we hit the dryer season for harvest again. I want to assure you that this is completely normal and it is also an industry-wide thing. It's not limited to just our company or even the kratom plant - other natural herbs vary batch-to-batch and by season, as well. I have found in my 12 years as a kratom consumer that, while the color of the powder doesn't always determine the quality of the product, I fully understand everyone has different preferences. With all of that said, I know your review isn't just about the color or consistency. We take customer concerns very seriously and I believe you. Again, I am so sorry you had a bad experience with our products and service. We know that weak batches happen and we never want to leave you feeling like you are out the money you spent or that you were brushed off by our employees. Some things are out of our hands, but we always try to do what we can to make it right. What really matters to us in the end is our customer's happiness, safety, and confidence. I'm already working with Quality Assurance regarding your complaint to see how we can prevent a similar situation in the future and even if you decide not to order from TBSC again, I want to try to make up for both the inconvenience and your experience. I'm happy to set up a replacement for this order free of charge with a different batch of product if you call me during business hours at 207-669-8246.
