Ordering system and communication is poor
Ordering system and communication is poor. I placed an order for three parts, one of which I needed to get my car back on the road. A couple days later I get an email stating that one of the parts is not in stock and my order will be delayed. They do not say which part is not in stock but obviously they know but do not care to share that information that might be of interest to the customer. In addition, they don't give any indication of how long the order will be delayed. So, I have to call them and wait on a lengthy hold for someone to take the call to find out what is going on. I finally get in touch with a rep and ask which part is on backorder and why they can't tell the customer this information when the order is placed. He can't answer that and says the ordering system is merely a catalog and there are no guarantees that the items are in stock. Ok, so your'e about the only internet-based company that operates this way in 2019. So, it turns out that the part that is holding things up is just a $3 clip that I could just get locally if I had known that this would hold up the entire order. I ask if they can just ship what they have and send the clip when it comes in. Nope. What they would have to do is send the two parts they have and then charge me another $8 to send the $3 clip when it arrives to their warehouse. If I had known that 1) they did not have all the parts and 2) that they hold an order hostage for a minor part unless I pay again for shipping or 3) that the ordering system is just a catalog of parts that they may or may not have in stock, I would have just ordered elsewhere. So, I tell the guy to just remove the $3 clip from my order and send what they have in stock. He does so but then my order still sits in processing for another couple of business days before finally shipping out. I'm not sure how these guys are going to stay in business if this is the way they operate. No way a real mechanic that has to get his customers cars back on the road can deal with such delays and even the shadetree mechanic is going to have a hard time putting up with this.
Response from Tasca PartsOct 18, 2019
Dear Chad, I apologize that your experience with us was not as smooth as it could have been. To answer your question, we do offer every part currently available for seven automotive manufacturers, representing approximately 4 million skews. We stock over 6 million dollars of inventory (45,000 skews in two warehouses). Because stocking 4 million skews is impossible (noted in our Terms & Conditions), special orders from the manufacturers’ warehouses do take place. I do agree, however, that our order response email could benefit from including what specific part is out of stock. We appreciate your feedback and will look into adding this information in future revisions of our software. Again, apologies for your frustration. Best, Mike
