Tajima-Direct made prescription lenses…
Tajima-Direct made prescription lenses for my Costa Blackfin Pro sunglasses. Great at first, but the mirror coating started to crack and wear off at about 15 months of daily use. I always wash and dry them with soft cloth, which I have done with many other sunglasses that have lasted me years. i sent them in for a warranty evaluation and the owner, Jacob, said the wear was NORMAL. not acceptable for the price of the lenses. I now buy directly from the brand, which are made by Barberini, Italy. Twice the quality in optics.

Hi David, Thanks for your feedback, and we're genuinely sorry to hear you're unhappy with your experience. We did thoroughly inspect your lenses upon return and found that the main issue was not a defect in the lenses or coating, but rather extensive wear from daily use — particularly where the temple tips repeatedly contacted and rubbed against the inside of the lenses when folded. This caused significant scratching and wear over time. Because the lenses were well outside of our 1-year warranty period, and the damage was clearly consistent with regular use — not a product failure — they did not qualify for warranty replacement. That said, we still offered to remake the lenses for you at a discount as a goodwill gesture. We take pride in our craftsmanship and the quality of our lenses, and we always aim to be fair, transparent, and supportive. While we regret that this didn’t meet your expectations, we remain available if you’d like to revisit the offer or discuss further. Best regards, Jacob President, Tajima Direct
