In August, 2026, I shopped for a dehumidifier and Sylvane came to my attention. They appeared to be a very knowledgeable and service-oriented business, but I found a better price with a competitor. At that time, they boasted a price match guarantee that said they would not only match but beat any eligible retailer's total price. I called Sylvane to notify them of the lower price and to inquire about their guarantee. They requested a link to the competitor website and a picture of my cart which included the dehumidifier, which I sent. Following their review of my documentation, they offered me a price for the same unit which was $80.15 more than that of the competitor. There was no response to my follow up email. I truly wanted to buy the unit from Sylvane, but could not bring myself to do business with a company that does not stand by its own guarantees. I bought from the competitor.

Pathetic excuse for a business. I ordered a dehumidifier which noted that it would be delivered in just two days. After placing the order, the email I received said that it was a pre-order and was actually estimated to ship in two weeks. After missing the shipping deadline, I reached out and was told that the item is actually out of stock. This company doesn’t know how to be accountable, or they’re a classic bate and switch scam.

I purchased an Open-Box Vornado EV100 humidifier in "Good Condition." I understand what an open-box or previously used item is, and I did not expect a brand-new product. However, I did expect it to be sanitary and properly inspected, as Sylvane states on its website: "This Open-Box: Vornado Whole Room Humidifier - EV100 has been fully inspected and tested to ensure proper functionality." What arrived was a humidifier containing a rotting, mildew-covered wick filter that smelled absolutely disgusting. The odor was so strong that it was immediately noticeable upon opening the box. No reasonable inspection should have allowed a filter in this condition to remain inside the unit. I contacted customer service and simply asked whether they would send a replacement wick filter. Their response was: "According to our records, you purchased a used item in Good Condition. This product has been opened and used by the previous customer. At this time, we do not have any replacement filters for this unit. If you would like to process a return, please let me know." While I appreciate the offer to return the unit, I find it unacceptable that a company would ship a humidifier with a filter that appears moldy and unsanitary, then be unwilling to replace such an inexpensive consumable item. Open-box should never mean "ship it with the previous customer's rotten filter." A simple replacement wick would have resolved the issue and demonstrated good customer service. Instead, I'm left returning the unit because it was sent in a condition that should never have passed inspection. I cannot recommend purchasing open-box humidifiers from Sylvane based on this experience.

Refurbished item was shipped without packing material and was damaged in transit. Customer service took zero responsibility and tried to blame shipper for mis handling. Please take caution when ordering refurbished items from this seller.

Website is organized and straightforward. One pain point is Apple Pay doesn't work with Sylvane. The Apple Pay button is there, and a user can select it, but as it goes through the payment process, It spits out an error and the user has to go through a traditional CC input process. Not a huge deal, but annoying when used to the fast convenience with built-in fraud safety Apple Pay provides. When using Apple Pay, the website never gets to see a user's CC info, so even if their site gets compromised, a user's CC info can't be stolen.

I had a terrible experience with this online shop. I placed my order on November 10, and the estimated delivery date was November 14. But on November 14, I didn't receive any notifications about the delivery of my order. When I contacted customer support, I was told that my order would only be shipped on December 8, which means that, taking into account delivery time, the difference between the estimated and actual delivery dates is a whole month. The second problem I encountered was the inability to change the delivery address. Due to the postponement of the delivery to December, I needed to change the delivery address because I could not receive the order at the old address. Customer support informed me that this could only be done by canceling the current order and placing a new one. Canceling the order means that they will cancel the order within 24 hours of my request, and I will receive a refund within 3-5 days after. This means that due to inaccurate delivery date information, I will have to wait more than a week for a refund. To be fair, their website states that it is not possible to change the address after placing an order, but in my case, the necessity to change the address arose due to the store's fault. And the store had no intention of correcting their mistake.
