I joined Sutton Capital on September '20. The program includes a theory (3 weeks) and a practical section (5 weeks). After the third 3rd week, you choose one sector to focus on: B2C, B2B, Deep Tech, and Sustainability/Impact. Every partner meeting, there are seasoned VCs providing feedback of the opportunities presented. This is really valuable because after several weeks, you learn to discern good investment opportunities faster. Sutton's Capital's environment is fun and the fact that cohort members come from all walks of life makes the experience very enriching. Joel Palathinkal, the general partner, is not only a good teacher, but a great person. He is extremely supportive and responsive. He is constantly looking for ways to improve the learning experience of the program and to help us succeed. Joel's network is incredibly wide. Every week, he hosts leaders in the family offices and VC spaces, and we have the opportunity to connect with them. I recommended Sutton Capital. A proof of how good the program is seeing many members stay longer than the 8 weeks. As everything in life, what you obtain from the program is correlated with how much effort you put in. Because of Joel's valuable network, during the program, we have had the chance to see more than a few members get VC and family offices jobs all around world. The program has fulfilled my expectations.

I’m a junior studying business in college and wanted to get a taste of the VC/PE world. I believe Sutton Capital was the perfect mix for me to be able to get insight from the several learning and networking events + the weekly seminars held to encourage other like minded individuals to clarify their doubts on a professional level and get answers to their queries. Would definitely recommend!

If you are looking to learn and gain experience in the VC/PE space then I can not recommend Sutton Capital’s VC/PE program enough. Since joining the remote & part time program, I have learnt a lot about how to apply VC theory to practice, valuing companies (from both VC & PE perspectives) and how to set up funds. I also participated in Partners meetings, Investment committees and got an opportunity to work with another VC fund in Sutton Capital’s network during the program. This has been a truly great investment. A big thank you to Jeol Palathinkal and the Global Sutton Capital team for making this a rewarding experience.

I joined the Sutton Capital Global Venture Capital & Private Equity Program after networking with Joel Palathinkal in a school organization event. My review of his program is entirely positive; I entered the program with little to no insight into the fields of Venture Capital or Private Equity, but have gained a deep understanding of both these fields through his combination of theoretical and applied sessions. Firstly, Joel began with teaching the fundamental financial concepts of each field, which put me in good stead to handle real-life cases. Without delving into too much detail, it was clear that Joel is a subject matter expert in these topics and could distill concepts into simple explanations for all of us in the class. With classmates from myriad backgrounds such as students to doctors to investment bankers, he made sure to keep everyone challenged and at an acceptable yet stimulating pace. Moving forward, we began to apply our classroom concepts with real-life companies and sectors that we preferenced. The value of this segment is similar to that of an internship; we faced clients, drafted reports, and even pitched companies with guidance from finance experts. I leave this experience now knowing what it is truly like to operate in the field, not just from a textbook, but from actual projects with existing firms. Overall, this program is both educational and professionally advantageous. As a student, I am now equipped with the skills to bring to interviews and a resume item that puts me ahead of other students. As a pivoting professional, I have seen the benefits of this program in my classmates: many have gone on to successfully shift their careers into this finance space, regardless of their backgrounds. Beyond personal growth, the expansive network of Sutton Capital alumni is far-reaching and excellent. I have expanded my network into horizons otherwise not possible. Excellent program. Starting from fundamental concepts and theories, the program brings the core knowledge and skills needed to break into the VC industry. On top of that, it gives chances to members to participate in real deals from sourcing deals to investment committee discussion. A comprehensive VC experience and knowledge framework can be well developed. Joel is definitely professional, helpful, and wide connections in the VC industry with great passion and is caring about cohort members. And the cohort is a great community supporting each other. I would strongly recommend this amazing program to professionals interested in VC or entrepreneurship.

Joining Sutton Capital is one of the best personal investment decision i have made to myself and best learning experience. I have gained valuable skills and lessons, friendship and valuable mentor-ship from Joel. Joel is truly caring and compassionate mentor and he create an amazing program where we learn everything about VC, from the basic you need to know to prepare yourself to be investor or analyst in VC world. we learn a comprehensive financial modelling, VC structures, Investment Committee presentation and the overall skills on how VC operates and what they looking for within startups, how to evaluate if the startups worth investing etc.this program is a real VC world, where we source for real deals and present it to the investment committees, and at the end of the cohort Sutton Capital will invest in best deal we bring to the table. I would say i have sense of belonging to Sutton Capital, due to having great mentor, awesome friendship, and i am upgraded as a person/professional. right after I joined the program, i was approached by many VC’s and PE’s in Asia for opportunities in their Company, both as Analyst side and Business Development Director position side. and I would say, they were impressed with how i explain and elaborate everything that VC should look for in every startups. I would really recommend this program to anyone who would like to enter VC world or simply elevate and upgrade professionally in Finance and Investment world.

I recommend Sutton Capital’s VC program to those serious about getting into Venture Capital; it’s a great way to learn by doing and get access to the industry. Sutton Capital’s Venture Capital investor program has been an amazing experience for me. Joel is very friendly, engaging for teaching/coaching, and smart. You will get a lot out from this program – the more you put your effort into, the more reward you can gain. Particularly I would like to highlight the following points on the program: + The program consists of comprehensive lectures around VC and real life experiences on VC deal team (deal sourcing, conversation with founders/investors, partner’s meetings, and investment committee). Other VCs within Joel’s network join partner’s meeting and give instant feedback on your presentation and what they think about companies you are pitching, which is a great hands-on learning experience. + The program operates globally and has four verticals (B2B, B2C, Deep Tech, and Impact). You belong to a team that focuses on one vertical, but you have an exposure to the other verticals from cohort members from all over the world. It is a great opportunity to network with members globally and to learn from them; perspectives on a given business in each region are extremely informative. + Joel is very logical and provides you a candid feedback on your questions and deal flow presentation. His comments are all thoughtful and practical, and you can take actions right after the meeting to move things forward. Also, when you try to learn new things, there are some seemingly small things that make you feel hesitated to take your step forward. He is always there for you to answer any questions. As Joel always mentions, you will be a part of Sutton Capital family once you join the program. I would highly recommend this program!
