HP Chromebook. Waste of money. Not 2 years old and dead. No recourse as only 1 year warranty as I expected it to last at least a bit longer. HPs chat with a computer 'helper' rubbish. Couldn't find a way to speak to a human to help. Annoyed I've wasted my money!

What support
What support? I used the app it took Me to USA Helpdesk they instantly gave me a UK WhatsApp number and closed the chat I sent a message to the WhatsApp UK support, No response in over 2 hours. Absolutely pathetic support. Avoid HP at all costs if you have an issue they will leave you high and dry

Do not count on any support.
Do not count on any support.
The "HP Smart" app needs to connect to HP's servers for everything it does, even printing or scanning a document which should not need to connect to their servers at all.
Needless to say, the connection to their servers is very slow and often does not work at all, leaving you without a functioning printer or scanner.
The HP support page has a useless "virtual assistant" and trying to connect to a human support staff just redirects back to the HP support page again. Infuriating.

Beware of HP
Beware of HP, Customer Service is rubbish!
My husband bought me a HP Pavillion for Christmas 2018, since then I have had recurring issues with a very noisy fan (similar to a small plane taking off) and an overactive touchpad.
I have had to send the laptop back to HP, while it was still under warranty, three times and they ‘repaired’ it. Following the 3rd occasion, after it had been ‘repaired’, I called to say the touchpad was still not working properly and they said there was nothing further then could do and sent me an external mouse.
At Christmas this year, the fan started making airplane impressions again, and the laptop was not opening applications. It then stopped working completely and the touchpad appeared to be completely inactive.
I carried out diagnostic tests, as suggested on HP Support, only to be told that, because the laptop was no longer under warranty, no further support was available. I called and spoke with HP Technical Team, who led me through the diagnostic tests again, which resulted in a diagnosis of touchpad failure.
I asked HP if, considering this has been an ongoing issue since I had the laptop, if they could carry out repairs free of charge, they said no, it is not under warranty, so it will cost £410 to repair. I have since tried making a complaint about this, but the only contact details I was given was an address in Bracknell, which considering we are in ‘lockdown’, I imagine I will not receive a reply.
All a great shame, as I was so happy when my husband gave me the laptop for Christmas.

HP customer service is nonexistent
HP customer service needs a complete overhaul. I’ve spent the past few days trying to contact them and have wasted well over five hours in the process. I started with their website, which directed me to email them as the only option for support. I emailed and received a response two days later telling me to use online chat. I went to online chat and waited an hour to connect with a rep, who almost immediately redirected me to call their customer support number. I called that number and waited on hold for over 2.5 hours (!!!) with no response. I reached out to HP via Twitter explaining my difficulty reaching customer service, and they directed me to the website again. After reminding them I’ve already tried that (and all of the other options), they directed me to call again.
They are literally sending me in a loop when all I’m trying to do is exchange a laptop. This is something that is as simple as a click of a button with other retailers! HP requires that you contact them to get a RMA number for any return or exchange. If you buy anything from them, you better hope it is in pristine condition and you never have to contact customer support. Oh, and they require that you contact them within 10 days of receiving your product or you’re SOL. I think they’re purposely running out the clock. Stay away!
