SunSetter AwningsReviews of sunsetter.com

Falsly offer a product that does not work on all homes. They will charge you shipping for a product that may or may not work on your home. You wont find out until after its already shipped and you are liable for shipping fees even after finding out they cannot provide the product they advertise. Do not buy from this company. Scam artist in our own hometown to say the least here in kansas city.

Terrible to deal with. We are on our THIRD Sunsetter awning in less than 2 months. ALL THREE ARRIVED WITH HOLES IN THE CANVAS. Each time, we had to take down the awning, wait for a return shipping authorization, and reinstall the new awnings. At this point we would be barely satisfied with a partial refund and a patch, but no response from Sunsetter. Customer service sticks to a script and offers no real assistance. Summer is over, and we still have no satisfaction or awning without a hole, yet our credit card has been charged. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Do not believe their claim of a 10 year warranty! Any damage at all is chalked up to 'weather' which is not covered. I liked my awning initially but it broke after only 2 years of normal use. The ams broke when I tried to retract it due to rain. When I called to get it fixed they claimed that the damage was not covered under the warranty, and that the damage was 'weather related', when there was no significant wind that day. I had to pay full price for replacement and labor, when it had barely been used and was only 2 years old. Terrible business practices and poor manufacturing if that is all it takes to break.

I contacted this company and was referred to their local dealer, More Shade 4 Less. Someone gave me a called, that I missed. I tried to call back several times at all hours. It seemed like the person was running their business out of their home as I never got a live person when I called. I complained to the company about the lack of contact and they apologized and then I heard nothing. So keep in mind that their product may be good (I was never able to find out) but their sales is poor and unreliable. As that suggests that installation and followup service may also be problematic, I am going with another company.

I ordered replacement arms for my awning..I paid for expedited shipping. It took 3 weeks to get the shipment. On arrival the shipping tube had one end open and half of the parts were missing. Upon calling to find out what happened. I was promised a refund on the extra shipping and the extra parts would be shipped "right out"..2 more weeks have gone by and still no parts... The worst customer service I have ever encountered..

I ordered in March awnings from a installer SunSetter recommended and 6 months later I still do not have the awnings and the installer refuses to return my call and Sunsetter will not return my call and are of no help. Contacted credit card to dispute the charge and waiting for my credit. Summer plans ruin and no one cares Save you money and deal with a reputable firm and installer

If I could give less than one star I would. Trying to contact for service, sent a chat on their website. Nothing. Sent an email. Nothing. Phone call. Nothing. Called again. Nothing. Finally an answer to my call, they will have a service man call us, but don’t expect service for 2 months. Well summer is over by then but ok, please have someone call. No call received from the service man. Still waiting and already 3 weeks from initial attempt to call.

Purchase a 10-ft solar shade with a warranty that outlasted the battery. Sunsetter will not just replace the battery. They want me to purchase a whole new shade assembly for almost $300. So don't buy from them because they do not take care of past purchases. They also would not tell me of a generic battery that I could purchase.
