I would LOVE a place to leave notes for each day or week. For example: I was doing great, then my granddaughter was stillborn and I got way off track. A way to notate what happened would be really helpful to reflect on triggers and how to address those.

Way too pushy. To be fair, I never signed up. I just did the survey through fb. They offer you an opportunity to opt out by texting CLOSE and then they don't respect it. They text bomb you, I had to block them. My skins actually crawling when I think about being a part of this community. Shouldn't integrity be the backbone of a program like this?

Hi Frances, I'm so sorry for the poor experience that you had with Sunnyside. It sounds like there was a mistake or glitch trying to close your account, and I do apologize if we sent text messages after you tried to close your account. Sunnyside utilizes text messaging as a core mechanic to help people build healthier drinking habits. As such, we do send you text messages daily. Of course most members are happy this with this approach, but I totally understand that it felt like we were text bombing you. We take these comments very seriously and will look into it. Thanks for giving us a shot.

I am the owner/operator of a small commercial transportation service that transports people from my hometown to the airports in my state. I find myself when not working, drinking more than a glass or two alone at home. I rarely drank at all in my 30 years as an adult but found myself drinking a few glasses of 3 fingers full Nighty of bourbon min or a bottle of Prosecco in apperol when at home for the night alone without a night off “of the booze”. I just wanted to loose weight and be content again with the norm being one or two max drinks a few nights a week, Not every single day. This app reminds me and helps me remember, I feel great after 2 drinks so why add the extra calories and loose the two drink feel that does the trick to wean off the days stresses. Just trying to get to a dry day here and there, that’s my main challenge at 50! This app helps and will get me there.

I had been following Canada’s low-risk drinking guidelines for a woman, which allowed a maximum of 2 drinks a day for 5 days in a week, and two dry days. After the COVID pandemic and a couple of personal depressing incidents, I found I was sometimes drinking 3 a day, or skipping dry days. Not a huge problem, but one I didn’t want to get worse. I had had luck improving an exercise program by tracking and sharing my activities, so I thought I would try it with drinking. In general, tracking and reporting on my drinking has worked quickly and well. I will continue with the programme for a month or two more until I am sure I have formed the habit of responsible, low-risk drinking again. I don’t know how well the programme would work for a person with a more serious alcohol problem, but if they are determined to cut back, becoming more aware of their patterns and having to report daily should help. Myself, the only problem I found at first has been that I already had a goal, and had to tweak the suggested goals each week. I didn’t particularly like planning ahead which days would be 0, 1 or 2-drink days. For example, Monday was a holiday in Canada and I had planned to have wine with dinner, but I was out, and the wine stores were closed, so it became a zero day. Tuesday was planned for a zero day, too. I changed the order.

Hi Monica, we really appreciate the thoughtful review. I'm glad to hear that it's working well for you and you're making progress. Sunnyside is definitely not designed for people with a serious alcohol problem, and we do our best to make that clear. We're more about helping people build healthier habits so they can cut back and be more mindful. Glad to have you on the journey with us!

I wanted to share my experience with Sunnyside I am in my third week of using the system and am very happy with the experience. I did not want to totally stop using adult beverages but wanted to slow down a bit. They are the angel on my shoulder keeping me focused. No judging just positive support To this point all is working well towards me reaching my goal. I suggest that people take advantage of their free trial period. It is enough time to see if it's for you

I signed up to get an understanding of what my alcohol intake was. This has given me a measure to use. The support is wonderful. The coaches seem to really care. Thank you!

Sunnyside is helping me stay accountable. I find it helpful to have reminders each day and texting me works best for me, I don't have to log into their app and I think the ease or the reminders and checking in really makes it do-able for me. It's working!
