Awful customer support experience
I got a promotional email from Streamily that used my old legal name that they'd gotten from my first ever order's shipping address, and when I asked them politely to remove it from their database they lied and said they got the data from my gmail account which is not and has never been tied to my old legal name in any way, then went silent when I presented my skepticism and asked for more information how they pull name data from gmail. They've been silent for nearly two months. It's a violation of EU data protection laws. I have had the same issue of companies sending promo emails using my old legal name ripped from shipping data, but in all three other cases they immediately said "Sure" and removed it - they were helpful and fast, unlike my experience with Streamily's customer support. Update: October 9th 2024 I'm going to try and contact them again. I'll update the review if it goes well, but I highly doubt it considering how comfortable Sienna from support was lying to my face. Update: October 15th 2024 I was told that "They don't usually delete customer data for business reasons", as if they weren't breaking the law by keeping my data against my will, as if they are doing me a favor by abiding by the law at my request. They claim to have finally deleted my data. Let's hope they actually did. I'd have bumped it up by one star if they didn't act like they were doing me a special favor by abiding by EU data protection laws. It's crazy that I had to contact them twice about this and that they just lied to me about where they got the data the first time, honestly.
