Screening process
Though I appreciate the "screening process," I feel that it was a bit over the top for just ordering a wire rack.

We totally understand your position Diana. What we do makes more sense once you become familiar with how online scams work. Criminals make small, seemingly innocuous purchases with stolen credit cards to test if the processor will allow the charge to go through. An e-commerce website can be an unwitting accomplice by authorizing a charge. Once the payment is accepted, the thieves use that card for more elaborate purchases. For the last 4-5 weeks we've been dealing with a crime ring that has attempted several hundred transactions like this. I've reported them to the FBI. Unfortunately, situations like this require us to double-down on our efforts and beef up security measures. Prohibiting sales of any form to residential customers has been the best line of defense for us. I am sorry that this policy resulted in your finding our process onerous and slow. We do require shoppers to approve of our terms and conditions before completing a transaction. The no residential orders policy is explicit. I'm not sure what more we can do. Thank you again for your business and for your understanding. Lee J Lowenstein President
