Very easy platform to navigate and find all the information you need to make an informed decision. The valuation is easy to find unlike other platforms. StartEngine even has a discussion page to ask questions to the founders in which other platforms do not offer.

Overall, StartEngine offers a good angel investing experience for the masses. The app is easy to use/navigate and finding companies to invest in is also easy. However, selling stocks on their secondary market (which at least they have in place) is extremely difficult and very user unfriendly. It’s so hard to find a willing buyer or navigate the selling screens. In addition, when companies on the app go IPO, your stocks are held by some middle man holding company and transferring the stocks to your own portfolio held by fidelity or whoever can be a chore. It’s also a lengthy process, which results in lost money generally as the shares devalue after IPO. Finally, the customer support team can be unhelpful and combative at times. They dont seem to care about making the app better for its users particularly.

I have invested in nine companies with Start Engine since about 2019. I have bought small on all the first investments in the company with the idea that I would keep an eye on them all and increase my investment in those that my continuing analysis seemed to show the most promise. Start engine has made this process a breeze and If I could give them higher than a 10, I would. Louis Bowler
